Service Director - MEA/Africa Region

Overview

This leadership role is responsible for overseeing operations and maintenance (O&M) activities across the MEA/Africa region, based locally within the territory. The position involves comprehensive management of international O&M teams, budgeting, quality control, compliance, and stakeholder engagement to ensure reliable and efficient wind power plant performance.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assemble, supervise, and guide a multinational O&M team including recruitment, training, and performance management.
• Coordinate continuous technical training and knowledge sharing to boost team expertise.
• Ensure all O&M activities adhere strictly to global safety standards by implementing robust safety management systems.
• Develop and maintain quality assurance processes to guarantee operational reliability.
• Manage the O&M budget prudently, optimizing expenses while reducing costs.
• Analyze operational costs to uncover cost-saving opportunities and implement improvements.
• Foster strong partnerships with international suppliers and service vendors to streamline operations.
• Engage proactively with local authorities and grid operators to maintain regulatory compliance and a supportive operational environment.
• Collect, monitor, and evaluate operational data to assess wind farm performance and produce detailed reports with enhancement suggestions.
• Employ data-driven analysis to refine O&M strategies and improve decision-making processes.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related fields.
• At least 10 years’ experience in O&M management of wind energy projects, preferably with international exposure.
• In-depth knowledge of global O&M standards and procedures within the wind power sector.
• Fluency in English required; additional international languages are advantageous.
• Experienced in utilizing O&M management software and relevant analytical tools.
• Strong analytical ability in troubleshooting and resolving complex operational issues.
• Proven leadership skills, capable of effectively motivating and managing diverse cultural teams.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and negotiation skills for collaboration with multiple international stakeholders.
• High resilience and adaptability to manage challenges and dynamic conditions typical to global projects.
