Role Overview
The Senior/Assistant Director of General Investigations will head a team of investigative officers tasked with a variety of complex operations aimed at protecting public health.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead post-market surveillance and enforcement across all health-related products—such as Therapeutic Products, Medical Devices, Chinese Proprietary and Traditional Medicines, Health Supplements, and Cosmetics—to maintain safety and quality consistent with international standards.
- Address investigations of other health-related issues as assigned by leadership.
- Support the formulation, development, and review of enforcement policies and strategies to deliver efficient enforcement results.
- Oversee manpower planning, resource allocation, and deployment within the branch aligning to strategic objectives.
- Manage and optimize resources and personnel to maximize productivity and adherence to budget constraints.
- Establish and sustain strategic relationships with external stakeholders and law enforcement through regular communications and partnerships.
- Support and coordinate international and regional collaborations, including engagements with WHO and ASEAN, to enhance anti-counterfeiting efforts and enforcement capacity.
- Regularly update and consolidate standard operating procedures (SOPs) within the team and in collaboration with external agencies.
- Facilitate workflow development and cooperation across internal units, departments, and divisions.
- Deliver training and guidance to officers on investigative operations.
- Direct teams in conducting comprehensive investigations related to legislative provisions under the Health Sciences Authority.
- Collaborate internationally with organizations such as Interpol and foreign counterparts for investigative matters.
- Prepare and submit investigation documentation and reports.
- Coordinate with prosecutorial teams and the Attorney General's Chambers regarding legal aspects of investigations.
- Plan and participate in inspections and enforcement activities, including enforcement operations.
- Take necessary enforcement actions such as arresting offenders, executing court warrants, and assisting with prosecutorial procedures.
- Identify potential areas susceptible to illegal activities and coordinate efforts to address them.
- Facilitate meetings with external agencies for enforcement collaboration and situation updates.
