Overview
Join Air New Zealand as a Senior Workforce Planner and play a crucial role in shaping workforce decisions that keep New Zealand's airline running efficiently. This position offers the chance to influence workforce strategy within a complex operational framework, ensuring optimal staffing in the right places at the right times.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and refine workforce planning models that promote safe, efficient, and financially viable operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement workforce initiatives promptly with minimal operational impact.
- Leverage workforce metrics and analyses to offer credible advice that guides business decisions and enhances planning results.
- Conduct thorough cost-benefit evaluations of workforce programs to uncover improvements in productivity, efficiency, and value.
- Deliver clear and actionable insights enabling leadership to make well-informed decisions based on evidence.
- Mentor and develop workforce planners to enhance expertise and planning standards within the Resource Planning Chapter.
- Drive continuous improvement projects simplifying workflows, reducing complexity, and achieving tangible business benefits.
Success Measures
- Creating workforce plans that effectively balance operational needs, customer satisfaction, and commercial demands.
- Shaping strategic workforce decisions by providing trusted analysis and fostering influential relationships.
- Elevating workforce planning proficiency through coaching, teamwork, and ongoing process enhancements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Significant experience in workforce management, specifically workforce planning and resolving complex scheduling challenges.
- Comprehensive understanding of workforce management including rostering, resource allocation, and training optimization.
- Familiarity with Air resource groups such as Pilots and Cabin Crew, or Ground resources like Airport staff and Maintenance teams.
- Strong analytical skills capable of converting intricate data into practical, actionable recommendations.
- Strategic mindset confident in questioning assumptions and influencing leadership decisions.
- Sound knowledge of compliance issues including regulatory requirements, union agreements, and workforce optimization technologies.
- Proven ability in coaching and transferring technical knowledge to build team capability.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills to influence leaders through reliable, data-driven guidance.
