Job description

Overview

This is a full-time remote opportunity for a Senior Workday Applications Analyst focused on HCM Benefits. The position calls for advanced hands-on knowledge in designing, configuring, implementing, and supporting Workday Benefits capabilities. The analyst works closely with operational teams to keep benefits administration accurate, compliant, and efficient, while also leading project workstreams, handling complex system issues, and helping roll out upgrades and new features.

The role also includes serving as a subject-matter resource, coordinating conversations with internal experts and external vendors, reviewing product capabilities, and producing clear documentation. In addition, the analyst helps with ticket review, responds to critical incidents, maintains vendor relationships, mentors junior colleagues, and keeps skills current through ongoing learning and certification efforts.

Compensation noted for the role is $90,000 to $110,000 annually.

Key Responsibilities

  • Spot blockers early, raise risks with practical solutions, and keep work moving toward completion.
  • Attend required meetings, own follow-up items, and maintain closed-loop communication.
  • Act as a workstream lead on cross-functional projects and keep tasks aligned with scope and project controls.
  • Coordinate optimization requests by arranging meetings, defining timelines, and assigning resources.
  • Build strong partnerships with operations teams and support application-related questions as a trusted advisor.
  • Lead working sessions with subject matter experts, caregivers, and vendors to assess, design, and configure features.
  • Review product demos to measure functionality against business needs and recommend suitable solutions.
  • Support upgrade activities, identify useful new functionality, and help operational teams adopt changes.
  • Test new features, validate functionality, and create job aids for support and training use.
  • Investigate system and configuration problems and implement effective fixes.
  • Take part in ticket triage and analysis to route work correctly and support scoping.
  • Independently troubleshoot application components, including server configurations, system services, and interface jobs, escalating other teams when needed.
  • Respond to critical incidents and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Configure application features and security settings, and create support materials such as test scripts and workflow diagrams.
  • Maintain productive relationships with third-party vendors to support software operations.
  • Develop documentation for application teams, including test scripts, workflow diagrams, and knowledge base articles.
  • Partner with the training team to prepare end-user learning materials.
  • Guide and support less experienced teammates through mentoring.
  • Keep up with product changes, obtain relevant certifications, and stay informed on configurations, technology shifts, and industry trends.
  • Participate in department-defined professional development activities and remain adaptable to changing priorities and project needs.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience with enterprise platforms such as EHRs, ITSM tools, or ERPs.
  • Strong problem-solving, time management, and decision-making abilities.
  • A team-oriented mindset with a solution-focused and positive approach.
  • Comfort working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to mentor junior team members.
  • Capable of leading meetings and communicating effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
