Role summary
This full-time remote leadership role is responsible for steering and strengthening the organization’s technical and operational backbone. The Senior Vice President of Technical Operations will guide IT operations end to end, with attention to reliability, security, scalability, and alignment with both clinical and business priorities. The position requires close partnership with executive leadership, oversight of large programs and projects, refinement of operating processes, and management of vendor relationships and performance metrics. The role also includes mentoring managers and team leads, creating a culture of accountability and innovation, and translating complex technical subjects for non-technical audiences.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the organization’s technical operations across infrastructure, applications, service delivery, and security.
- Build and execute strategic roadmaps that support clinical objectives and broader business goals.
- Direct cross-functional teams working on large-scale technical programs and initiatives.
- Strengthen operational processes to improve efficiency, consistency, and measurable outcomes.
- Monitor core performance indicators and use data to drive continual improvement.
- Partner with executive stakeholders to set priorities and align technology efforts with company direction.
- Oversee vendor relationships and ensure external partners meet expectations.
- Guide compliance and quality practices, including GMP-related standards where relevant.
- Coach and develop managers and team leads across distributed technical and operations groups.
- Communicate technical information clearly to leadership and other non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications and requirements
- Strong background in IT management and operational leadership across infrastructure, applications, security, and service delivery.
- Proven experience in project and program management for complex technical initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and scale distributed technical and operations teams.
- Exposure to GMP or comparable quality and compliance frameworks in regulated environments.
- Substantial senior leadership experience in technical operations, ideally in healthcare, health tech, or similarly complex settings.
- Excellent strategic thinking, analysis, and problem-solving ability with a history of driving operational gains.
- Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills across clinical, technical, and business groups.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- Advanced degree such as an MBA or similar qualification is preferred.
- Comfort working in a fully remote environment and leading globally distributed teams.
