Position Overview
The Senior Vice President of Project Delivery and Execution will own the strategy, structure, and performance of the organization’s project delivery function. This leadership role is accountable for end-to-end delivery quality, timelines, and cost management across major initiatives on a global or regional scale.
The role is expected to build standardized delivery systems and strong execution processes that improve the successful delivery of strategic and customer-facing projects, while also raising customer satisfaction and strengthening organizational execution capability.
Key Responsibilities
- Create company-level project delivery strategies and medium- to long-term execution plans.
- Set up a unified project delivery management framework and operating model.
- Improve delivery methods through standardization, modularization, and repeatable processes.
- Design and maintain a project delivery maturity model.
- Lead delivery of large projects across regions and business units.
- Make sure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in line with quality requirements.
- Oversee complex project portfolios and track milestone completion and final acceptance.
- Build effective execution mechanisms for strategic initiatives.
- Track progress, spend, resources, and risks across projects.
- Remove major blockers and resolve critical delivery issues.
- Continuously improve execution speed and delivery effectiveness.
- Ensure strong delivery outcomes and high client satisfaction.
- Handle urgent client delivery issues and major incident escalation.
- Put in place structured communication and feedback channels for clients.
- Improve consistency in customer delivery and overall client experience.
- Coordinate work across R&D, product, operations, supply chain, and technical support teams.
- Create collaboration mechanisms for cross-functional project execution.
- Improve resource allocation and project prioritization.
- Increase organization-wide collaboration efficiency.
- Establish systems for identifying, assessing, and warning on project risks.
- Define quality management standards and review processes for projects.
- Lead closed-loop resolution of risks and major issues on strategic programs.
- Drive continuous improvement in delivery quality and process control.
- Develop systems to monitor and analyze project delivery data.
- Track KPIs covering schedule, cost, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Prepare execution reports and decision-support documents for leadership.
- Use data insights to improve delivery performance.
- Lead global or regional project delivery teams.
- Build competency models and talent development programs for delivery teams.
- Strengthen the capabilities of project managers and delivery staff.
- Promote a high-performance culture centered on execution.
Qualifications
Education: A bachelor’s degree or higher is required. Backgrounds in Engineering Management, Project Management, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related areas are preferred.
Experience: Candidates should bring at least 20 years of experience in project management, project delivery, or PMO-related work, along with 15 or more years in senior leadership roles at vice president level or above. Experience in large organizations, multinational companies, or complex system delivery is expected. Exposure to global or multi-regional project delivery is preferred.
Professional Competencies: A strong working knowledge of project delivery frameworks such as PMBOK, Agile, and hybrid methods is needed. Familiarity with large-scale project and complex systems delivery, project portfolio management, resource allocation, risk control, quality management, and supply chain coordination is important. Strong analytical ability and operational management skills are also required.
General Competencies: The role calls for a highly execution-driven, results-focused leader with strong cross-functional influence, executive communication ability, and sound decision-making support skills. The candidate should be comfortable leading implementation in highly complex environments and bring a global mindset with structured, systems-based thinking.
