Senior Vice President of Supply Chain Management

Position Summary

This executive role leads the company’s global supply chain from end to end. The position oversees procurement, strategic sourcing, demand planning, inventory control, logistics, warehousing, transportation, supplier management, and distribution. The leader in this role is expected to strengthen growth, improve operating performance, reduce costs, and protect service quality while building a supply chain that is resilient and sustainable.

As part of the senior leadership group, this executive works closely with the CEO, COO, CSCO, CFO, and CMfgO to shape and execute enterprise-wide operational priorities.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise supply chain strategy: Set and carry out global supply chain plans that support business goals. Oversee integrated planning across procurement, manufacturing, logistics, and distribution. Build supply chain networks that are scalable, adaptable, and resilient. Drive major transformation programs across the organization.

Procurement and strategic sourcing: Lead global procurement and supplier management. Negotiate key supplier agreements and long-term partnerships. Improve sourcing methods to strengthen quality, reduce cost, and improve delivery performance. Ensure ethical sourcing and supplier compliance with corporate standards.

Planning, logistics, and distribution: Direct demand planning, sales and operations planning (S&OP), inventory optimization, and fulfillment. Improve transportation, warehousing, and worldwide distribution efficiency. Strengthen inventory turnover while preserving strong customer service. Expand supply chain visibility through analytics and digital tools.

Operational excellence: Champion Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement efforts. Lead digital transformation using ERP platforms, AI, automation, and predictive analytics. Lower operating costs while improving service levels and supply chain resilience. Create backup plans to reduce the impact of supply disruptions and geopolitical risks.

Financial and risk management: Manage supply chain budgets and capital spending. Track key performance indicators such as inventory turnover, order fulfillment, supplier performance, logistics expense, and working capital. Ensure adherence to international trade rules, environmental requirements, and corporate governance. Lead enterprise supply chain risk management efforts.

Executive leadership: Manage vice presidents, directors, and senior managers across procurement, logistics, supply planning, demand planning, distribution, supplier quality, and inventory management. Build leadership capability and succession plans across the global supply chain organization. Present strategic priorities and performance updates to executive leadership and the Board of Directors. Promote collaboration, innovation, accountability, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related discipline is required. An MBA or master’s degree is preferred. Professional certifications such as CSCP, CPIM, CPSM, CLTD, or equivalent credentials are strongly preferred. The role calls for 15–20+ years of progressive leadership experience in global supply chain, procurement, logistics, manufacturing, or operations. Candidates should have a strong record of leading enterprise-wide supply chain organizations and transformation programs, along with deep experience in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics, plus S&OP, strategic sourcing, demand planning, and international logistics. Strong executive presence, financial acumen, negotiation ability, and communication skills are essential.
