Position Overview

We are seeking a full-time Senior Vice President of Human Resources based in Fort Wayne, IN. This role operates Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and offers a starting annual salary between $80,000 and $120,000. The position includes a comprehensive benefits package encompassing medical, dental, vision insurance, a 403b savings plan with company match, paid holidays, generous paid time off, employee assistance programs, group life insurance plus supplemental life coverage for dependents, along with short- and long-term disability plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the CEO in implementing and executing the strategic vision established by the Board.
  • Develop a holistic HR strategy aligned with organizational goals, values, and future workforce requirements.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for all HR operations to ensure exceptional service, effective processes, and ongoing enhancements.
  • Lead talent management processes including workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, and retention to secure and nurture top talent.
  • Create and advance leadership development programs aimed at boosting leadership effectiveness and succession planning.
  • Spearhead organizational development to improve employee engagement, effectiveness, and foster a culture of learning and adaptability.
  • Deliver training on organizational values and culture that deepens mission alignment and workplace expectations.
  • Manage employee performance programs promoting accountability, coaching, and continuous development.
  • Guide employee relations, including conflict resolution, investigations, and disciplinary actions, cultivating a respectful environment.
  • Design and administer competitive compensation and benefits that support employee wellness and organizational goals.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant industry, local, state, and federal employment laws and proactively mitigate risks.
  • Regularly report HR metrics and workforce analytics to the CEO to track organizational health and inform strategic planning.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to build leadership capabilities and maintain a mission-driven, high-performance culture.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Perform other duties as required to support organization goals.
  • Participate in quarterly all-staff meetings.
  • Exemplify core organizational values including integrity, unity, and effectiveness.
  • Offer spiritual support and prayer within the scope of the organization's mission.

Supervisory Duties

  • Oversee the HR department staff by coordinating recruitment, orientation, and training efforts.
  • Ensure a safe, secure, and legally compliant workplace environment.
  • Facilitate employee growth through clear expectations, coaching, counseling, and implementation of policies and standards.

Education, Training, and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field is mandatory.
  • Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years in HR with at least 5 years in management roles.
  • Experience at a senior leadership level within corporate or nonprofit settings for 5 years is desired.

Required Skills and Knowledge

  • Comprehensive understanding of HR disciplines including talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation, benefits, performance management, and compliance.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and enhance workplace culture.
  • Strong alignment of HR strategies with overall business objectives and ability to foresee workforce trends.
  • Exceptional communication skills for effective engagement at all organizational levels.
  • Competence in data interpretation for informed decision making and identifying improvement areas.
  • In-depth knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Capability to manage organizational change and implement new initiatives effectively.
  • Proficient with computers, including internet, email, spreadsheets, databases, and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now software is required.
  • Ability to engage with diverse socio-economic, ethnic, and racial communities respectfully and effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Personal integrity, sound judgment, and respect for others are essential.
  • Compliance with organizational policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Adaptability to a dynamic and evolving work environment.
