Job description
Role overview
Meyer Jabara Hotels is looking for an experienced hotel operations executive who brings strong financial expertise, especially across full-service and boutique properties, and a proven track record of improving Food & Beverage performance within a growing portfolio. This position carries strategic responsibility for operations and portfolio strategy across multiple properties.
The Senior Vice President of Operations leads both the strategic direction and day-to-day operational oversight of Meyer Jabara Hotels’ portfolio. The role is accountable for financial results, brand standards, and a consistent experience for guests and associates across all assigned hotels. It works closely with ownership groups, senior leadership, and property teams to deliver results, support expansion, and maintain the company’s service culture. Performance in this role is evaluated through financial outcomes, owner relationships, leadership development, and the execution of company strategy across a multi-state, multi-brand portfolio.
Key duties
- Set the operational direction and oversee an assigned group of hotels across several states and brand families.
- Coach and manage General Managers and Area Managers while building accountability, results, and leadership capability throughout the portfolio.
- Work with ownership and asset-management partners to evaluate results, recommend strategic actions, and help safeguard asset value.
- Track important performance indicators such as RevPAR, GOP, NOI, guest satisfaction, and labor productivity, then put corrective measures in place when needed.
- Review property profit-and-loss statements on a regular basis and partner with General Managers to resolve performance shortfalls.
- Team up with Sales, Revenue Management, Finance, Human Resources, and Commercial leaders to improve revenue and operating efficiency.
- Make sure all properties comply with brand requirements, management agreements, and internal policies.
- Assist with hotel openings, transitions, renovations, and repositioning initiatives across the portfolio.
- Partner with Human Resources to recruit, build, and retain strong talent at property level.
- Spot opportunities to improve operations, control costs, and elevate the guest experience.
- Take part in ownership meetings, management presentations, and business-development efforts that help the portfolio grow.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with brand representatives, vendors, and other key stakeholders.
- Visit properties regularly to assess performance, mentor leadership teams, and reinforce company culture.
- Encourage a workplace culture centered on accountability, teamwork, and service excellence across all hotels.
Required background
The position calls for a seasoned hospitality leader with at least 10 years of progressive experience, including regional or multi-property oversight. Candidates should have a strong record of managing full-service and select-service hotel portfolios across multiple brands, along with hands-on experience running full-service hotels that include complex Food & Beverage operations. Experience with both branded and independent hotel properties is important, as is prior work directly with owners, asset managers, and brand partners.
Applicants need strong financial judgment, including P&L management, forecasting, and understanding of operational metrics. The role also requires the ability to lead and develop General Managers and senior property leaders, think strategically, solve problems in complex multi-state environments, and communicate with executive-level presence. A deep knowledge of hotel operations across Rooms, Food & Beverage, Sales, and Revenue Management is expected.
A bachelor’s degree in a related discipline is required. Travel of up to 50% is necessary to support hotels throughout the region.
Work environment and physical requirements
- This is a full-time leadership role with travel requirements of up to 50% across the portfolio.
- Work may take place in a home office, corporate office, hotel settings, and while traveling.
- The role requires the ability to sit for extended periods, travel frequently, and work with a flexible schedule.
- Occasional lifting of items weighing up to 25 lbs may be needed.
