Role overview

Bruin Capital Management is hiring a Senior Vice President of Corporate Development to join the executive leadership team in the United States. This position reports to the CEO / Chief Development Officer and is focused on scaling the business through enterprise growth planning, strategic partnerships, mergers and acquisitions, investment evaluation, and long-term value creation.

The role requires a leader who can partner closely with senior executives and other stakeholders to uncover growth opportunities, assess strategic investments, strengthen partner relationships, and help steer the company’s broader strategic agenda.

Key responsibilities

  • Create and implement company-wide corporate development plans that support organizational goals.
  • Spot and assess opportunities that can drive long-term growth and enterprise value.
  • Shape strategies for market entry, new business development, and broader expansion efforts.
  • Advise executive leadership on strategic priorities and commercial opportunities.
  • Help build multi-year growth roadmaps for the organization.
  • Evaluate mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and other strategic investment opportunities.
  • Oversee commercial, financial, and operational due diligence for potential transactions.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders across the full lifecycle of deals.
  • Support integration planning after transactions and help realize expected value.
  • Assess investments to ensure alignment with long-term business direction.
  • Develop strong relationships with partners, investors, industry groups, and other key stakeholders.
  • Identify alliances and collaboration opportunities that contribute to growth.
  • Lead negotiations for partnerships, alliances, and business collaborations.
  • Contribute to domestic and international expansion initiatives.
  • Strengthen the company’s market position and strategic network.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership on enterprise strategy and business planning.
  • Perform market reviews, competitor analysis, and industry research.
  • Prepare business cases, executive-level presentations, and strategic recommendations.
  • Review emerging technologies, industry shifts, and new market opportunities.
  • Assist with board-level planning and corporate governance activities.
  • Define metrics to track the success of corporate development initiatives.
  • Monitor outcomes and overall business performance against strategic goals.
  • Deliver reports and recommendations to executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
  • Support data-driven decisions for investments and business planning.
  • Promote accountability through structured governance and reporting.
  • Work closely with Finance, Operations, Legal, Product, Technology, Marketing, Human Resources, and Business Development teams.
  • Align corporate development work with company priorities.
  • Lead enterprise initiatives that require executive sponsorship.
  • Improve communication and coordination across departments.
  • Build, coach, and lead high-performing strategy and corporate development teams.
  • Create a culture that is collaborative, innovative, and performance-focused.
  • Support leadership development, succession planning, and ongoing learning.
  • Reinforce organizational values and strong leadership standards.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should bring deep executive-level experience in corporate development, strategy, transactions, or investment-focused leadership. The role calls for strong financial and strategic judgment, along with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and guide complex growth initiatives.

Required qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Management, or a closely related field is required.
  • An MBA, CFA, CPA, or similar advanced business credential is preferred.
  • At least 15 years of progressive leadership experience in corporate development, corporate strategy, investment banking, private equity, venture capital, management consulting, or executive business leadership.
  • Proven experience leading growth initiatives, strategic partnerships, and complex business transactions.
  • Strong command of financial analysis, valuation, strategic planning, and corporate governance.
  • Experience working directly with executive teams and Boards of Directors.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, analytical, and strategic decision-making skills.

Preferred qualifications

  • Background in technology, SaaS, artificial intelligence, fintech, financial services, healthcare, energy, manufacturing, or professional services is preferred.
  • Experience supporting business expansion in domestic and international markets is an advantage.
  • Strong capability in financial modeling, valuation, and investment analysis is preferred.
  • Prior leadership in mergers, acquisitions, post-merger integration, or corporate investment work is preferred.
  • Experience building scalable corporate development teams in high-growth settings is a plus.
