Take a leading role in pioneering advancements in mine waste management for Western and Northern Canada, notably British Columbia and Alberta. As a senior technical director, you will drive the innovation and strategic direction of mine waste dumps and stockpiles engineering, contributing to sustainable, safe mining operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Steer the technical strategy and vision for engineering design and management of mine waste dumps and stockpiles across diverse geological settings.
• Innovate and enhance practices in facility design, operational procedures, monitoring, and closure plans.
• Mentor developing engineers to nurture their technical leadership skills.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with major mining clients and industry stakeholders throughout Western and Northern Canada.
• Act as a thought leader by representing the company at conferences, committees, and forums, and contribute to both internal and external technical publications.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, sustainable, and innovative solutions.
• Identify and pursue opportunities that expand the company's presence in the mining sector.

Qualifications and Skills

• Over 15 years of professional experience specializing in mine waste dump and stockpile engineering, covering diverse projects and terrains.
• In-depth knowledge of Canadian mining operations, including regions like BC, Alberta, the Prairies, and Indigenous northern areas.
• Established leadership presence in technical forums, industry committees, and professional gatherings.
• Extensive professional network within the Canadian mining industry.
• Professional Engineering designation (P.Eng. or equivalent) with eligibility for provincial registration.
• Passion for driving innovation and raising technical standards, alongside commitment to mentorship.

Compensation

• Salary ranges vary based on region:
• AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $194,700 – $257,900
• MB & ON: $177,600 – $244,600
• NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $175,800 – $233,500
• The final salary will be determined by factors such as education, experience, location, and organizational needs.
