Position Overview
IonQ is seeking an experienced Campus and Early Career Recruiter to own the end-to-end university recruiting process—from establishing strong campus presence and employer branding to sourcing, hiring, and onboarding interns and entry-level full-time employees. This role demands strong project management skills to build scalable recruiting systems aligned to the academic calendar and a highly collaborative, self-directed approach to managing multi-party programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and implement a comprehensive campus recruiting strategy focusing on universities with strong quantum computing, physics, engineering, and computer science programs.
- Act as IonQ's representative at career fairs, informational sessions, hackathons, and student events to strengthen the employer brand on campus.
- Develop and maintain robust connections with university career offices, faculty, and student organizations to establish a sustainable talent pipeline.
- Manage full-cycle internship recruiting including role scoping, candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, and extending offers.
- Coordinate program timelines among stakeholders to meet fixed academic deadlines.
- Design systems to capture interns for conversion to full-time roles, and implement ambassador and return-offer programs while tracking key metrics such as funnel effectiveness, offer acceptance, and intern satisfaction.
Candidate Profile
- Adaptable and credible spokesperson for IonQ’s technology and culture when interacting with students and faculty.
- Resourceful and independent with the ability to build recruiting programs from the ground up.
- Innovative thinker with fresh ideas to enhance employer branding and candidate experience in a competitive marketplace.
- Excellent project manager with the capacity to oversee a complex, deadline-driven program from inception to completion.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in campus/university recruitment, early-career hiring programs, and managing high-volume recruiting processes.
- Demonstrated ability to run recruiting programs involving multiple stakeholders against strict deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills across a range of audiences including students, faculty, hiring managers, and executives.
- Data-oriented mindset with proficiency in tracking recruitment metrics and reporting outcomes.
- Familiarity with applicant tracking systems and campus recruiting platforms such as Greenhouse, Workday, or Handshake.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing early-career or campus recruiting programs from scratch.
- Background recruiting for quantum computing, deep technology, or other highly technical/scientific domains.
- Pre-existing relationships with university career services or STEM student groups.
Compensation and Benefits
The estimated base salary ranges between 97123 and 126652 USD annually. Total compensation also includes bonuses, equity, and benefits such as medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with matching, unlimited PTO, paid holidays, parental/adoption leave, legal insurance, and a home technology stipend. Actual salary may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, and market factors.
