Senior Systems Engineer – Storage & Datacenter

Role Overview

This permanent position is for a Senior Systems Engineer focused on storage and datacenter operations in Bengaluru. The role calls for more than 4 years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise storage platforms, datacenter infrastructure, and cloud-based environments. The right candidate will help keep storage services dependable, secure, and high-performing across both on-premises and cloud setups.

Key Responsibilities

• Run and maintain storage platforms across local infrastructure and cloud environments.
• Set up, allocate, and administer NetApp, SAN, and NAS storage solutions.
• Track storage health and performance, then resolve infrastructure-related issues.
• Contribute to disaster recovery planning, backup operations, and business continuity efforts.
• Carry out storage patching, upgrades, and security/compliance checks.
• Use automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Shell scripting, or Python to streamline recurring tasks.
• Provide support for VMware environments and work closely with infrastructure teams.
• Investigate incidents through root cause analysis and put preventive fixes in place.
• Prepare, update, and preserve technical documentation.

Experience and Skill Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience in storage and infrastructure administration.
• Practical expertise with NetApp storage, including Clustered ONTAP and 7-Mode.
• Working knowledge of SAN/NAS storage systems and Brocade technologies.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services.
• Exposure to Terraform, Ansible, Shell scripting, or Python.
• Strong understanding of VMware, Windows, and Linux administration.
• Ability to monitor, troubleshoot, and tune storage performance.

Preferred Experience

• Experience administering Commvault backup solutions.
• Basic networking knowledge.
• Experience using ServiceNow for IT operations.
• Understanding of ITIL practices and enterprise infrastructure support.
