Senior Sustainability Manager - Project

Role Summary

Lead the formulation and implementation of the organization's sustainability and ESG strategies, ensuring these are aligned with business goals, regulatory mandates, and international sustainability benchmarks. Drive ESG integration across departments, oversee sustainability outcomes, manage environmental and climate-related risks, and spearhead initiatives for sustainability credentials and long-term value creation.

Main Responsibilities

• Develop and periodically update the sustainability and ESG strategy in line with organizational objectives.
• Set sustainability goals, KPIs, and long-term targets; embed ESG principles into corporate policies and operations.
• Assess emerging sustainability trends, regulatory changes, and opportunities, ensuring national and international alignment.
• Provide strategic sustainability counsel to executive leadership regarding risks and opportunities.
• Create and maintain Sustainability Management Plans, governance frameworks, policies, and accountability systems.
• Ensure sustainability principles are woven into business and project workflows; monitor adherence to internal policies.
• Lead ESG reporting and disclosures using frameworks such as GRI, SASB, TCFD, and ISSB; develop performance dashboards and reports for leadership.
• Manage certification efforts for LEED and Mostadam, coordinating with consultants to achieve certification targets.
• Drive Net Zero and decarbonization efforts including carbon management, GHG reporting, and tracking environmental performance related to energy, carbon, and water.
• Conduct sustainability and climate risk evaluations; maintain risk registers and mitigation strategies; alert leadership of critical risks.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the sustainability team, setting performance objectives and encouraging knowledge sharing and succession planning.
• Lead initiatives to raise sustainability awareness, foster stakeholder relationships, facilitate workshops, and promote a culture of sustainability.

Required Experience and Expertise

• Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in sustainability, ESG, environmental management, or construction-related fields.
• Proven success in creating and executing sustainability strategies and ESG integration.
• Comprehensive knowledge of ESG governance, reporting, and disclosure practices.
• Demonstrated expertise in LEED, Mostadam, and related certification programs.
• Experience in carbon accounting, greenhouse gas reporting, and Net Zero initiatives.
• Strong grasp of sustainability and climate risk management.
• Track record of leading cross-functional teams and managing strategic sustainability programs.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders and influence organizational sustainability agendas.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, Architecture, or similar disciplines required.
• Master’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Management, or Business Administration preferred.
• LEED Accredited Professional certification is an advantage.
• Mostadam certification or equivalent is desirable.
• Professional ESG certifications such as GRI, SASB, ISSB, or ESG Investing are preferred.

Technical Skills

• Expertise in sustainability strategy development and ESG integration.
• Proficiency in ESG reporting frameworks including GRI, SASB, TCFD, ISSB.
• Strong skills in carbon accounting and greenhouse gas emissions reporting.
• Competence in risk assessment related to sustainability and climate.
• Experience in environmental data analysis, performance tracking and sustainability governance.
• Knowledge in Net Zero and decarbonization planning.
• Management of LEED, Mostadam, and green building certification processes.
• Capability in ESG performance measurement and materiality assessments.
• Fluency with sustainability software, data management, and analytics tools.
• Skilled in stakeholder engagement and sustainability communication.
• Advanced knowledge of sustainability reporting and disclosure preparation.
