Job description
About Talabat and Role Overview
Talabat, a member of the Delivery Hero Group, is a leader in the local delivery market with operations in nearly 65 countries. Headquartered in Berlin and publicly listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange since 2017, Talabat’s mission is to offer a fast, easy, and delightful delivery experience. The Logistics Integrity team is responsible for safeguarding Talabat's rider network by identifying and mitigating rider fraud and misconduct across multiple Middle Eastern markets.
As a Senior Specialist within the Integrity team, you will independently manage a range of critical rider misconduct behaviors, oversee the operational systems for detection and enforcement, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve the reliability and fairness of the rider platform serving millions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage an assigned portfolio of significant rider misconduct issues by defining measurement criteria, establishing baselines across countries and rider groups, conducting root cause analyses, and prioritizing actionable interventions to reduce misconduct.
- Develop and fine-tune detection rules and enforcement parameters, coordinating the deployment of updates throughout the region’s various markets.
- Lead enforcement cycles including regular waves, monitoring repeat offenders, reviewing false positives, and evaluating performance metrics across different countries, adjusting strategies based on data outcomes.
- Document end-to-end detection and enforcement workflows for each assigned behavior, identifying inefficiencies and recommending improvements.
- Maintain operational tools and infrastructure for workflow automation and tracking essential to the detection and enforcement systems’ effectiveness.
- Identify emerging misconduct patterns, create justification cases for including them into active monitoring, and expand the team’s oversight.
- Integrate the performance of managed behaviors into regional integrity KPIs and executive reporting routines.
- Ensure audit-ready documentation that meets internal governance and public company compliance standards.
- Partner with Product, Operations, Customer Experience, and leadership across countries to implement solutions and coordinate rollouts, participating in routine team reviews and planning sessions.
Qualifications and Skills
- 4 to 6 years of experience in areas such as Trust and Safety, Fraud and Risk management, Marketplace Operations, or Logistics Operations Analytics; experience in technology-driven or multi-market settings preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, economics, or an equivalent professional background.
- Proven expertise in behavioral fraud detection, rule creation, gig-economy fleet management, or extensive anti-abuse initiatives.
- Capability to manage problems fully: from measuring issues and analyzing root causes to designing solutions, executing them, and assessing results.
- Advanced proficiency with SQL (especially BigQuery) and comfortable creating dashboards and automating tasks with Python scripting.
- Strong analytical skills to translate anomalies into root causes, solutions, business cases, and quantifiable impacts.
- Process-oriented mindset with the ability to dissect workflows and pinpoint operational weaknesses.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, working effectively across Product, Operations, and various country teams with different operational norms.
- Experience balancing enforcement thresholds to minimize false positives while effectively catching abuse.
- Capacity to influence and unify diverse job functions toward common objectives.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple stakeholders and workloads efficiently.
- Demonstrated commitment to standards, ethics, and compliance enforcement.
- Hands-on approach, with a strong preference for data-driven investigation over theory alone.
- Proficient in using next-generation AI tools such as Claude and Claude Code.
- Strong command of written and verbal English communication.
- Collaborative team player who values camaraderie.
