Job description
Role overview
This role is for a senior-level software engineer and subject matter expert focused on Oracle Order and Service Management (OSM), Oracle Order Entry Point (OEP), and Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM). The position is based in the telecommunications space and calls for 8–10+ years of relevant experience.
Key responsibilities
- Build, configure, deploy, and support Oracle OSM cartridges and telecom order fulfilment workflows across OSM 7.x and 8.x environments.
- Oversee the full order journey, from capture and decomposition through orchestration, fulfilment, and closure.
- Carry out OSM installation, upgrade, setup, and data migration work.
- Create and improve OEP middleware modules, integration layers, notification mechanisms, and bulk order handling capabilities.
- Connect OSM/OEP solutions with OSS and BSS platforms such as UIM, ASAP, BRM, CRM, and other external systems.
- Develop automation plug-ins, XQuery mappings, SOAP-based services, and Java-driven components.
- Administer Oracle WebLogic environments by handling installation, patching, performance tuning, and capacity scaling.
- Set up and manage Oracle Enterprise Manager for monitoring application health, system performance, incidents, and infrastructure.
- Support CI/CD workflows using Git, Jenkins, and Artifactory.
- Investigate order fallout scenarios and carry out compatibility and impact reviews.
Required skills and expertise
- Hands-on experience with Oracle OSM 7.x/8.x cartridge development and administration.
- Practical knowledge of Oracle OEP middleware development and integration.
- Experience in Oracle Enterprise Manager setup, monitoring, and administration.
- Strong background in Java/J2EE, Spring, Apache Camel, and XML-related technologies such as XQuery, XPath, XML, and SOAP.
- Ability to administer Oracle WebLogic Server.
- Working knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, shell scripting, and Linux/Unix environments.
- Experience with Ant, Git, Jenkins, and Artifactory in build and delivery pipelines.
- Telecom domain understanding across GSM, voice, data, wireless, DSL, and VoIP services.
Preferred background
- Exposure to Oracle RODOD or RSDOD implementations.
- Experience on OSS/BSS integration programmes.
- Background in telecom order management, provisioning, and fulfilment systems.
