Senior Software Engineer B2 - Telecom Applications

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer B2 with 6 to 8 years of experience to build, develop, and enhance telecom-focused applications. The role involves working with Java Spring Boot, AWS services, SQL/PL-SQL, and JavaScript in a hybrid work setting. The engineer will contribute to scalable, secure, and resilient systems that support core telecom business processes and offer improved customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead modernization of mainframe workloads toward AWS-native architecture with application-specific solutions guided by treatment strategies and archetypes.
• Work extensively on the AWS cloud stack including serverless components (S3, Fargate), AWS pipelines, and managed relational databases such as Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL.
• Develop ETL processes, including AWS Glue and continuous data change scripting, and engage in DevOps practices using Jenkins and Sonar within CI/CD pipelines.
• Design and implement scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot suited for high-volume telecom systems, ensuring maintainability and reliability.
• Create optimized complex SQL and PL/SQL queries and stored procedures to support telecom data processing tasks efficiently.
• Build RESTful APIs to integrate telecom platforms with various internal and external systems ensuring smooth data flows and operational consistency.
• Leverage AWS services to host, monitor, and scale telecom applications while complying with organizational cloud policies.
• Develop user-friendly JavaScript-based frontends (React preferred but flexible) for telecom operations teams facilitating network monitoring, customer management, and metrics analysis.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product owners, quality assurance, and telecom experts to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Implement comprehensive testing strategies covering unit, integration, and system tests to ensure stability and minimize production issues in critical telecom environments.
• Continuously monitor application performance and logs to identify performance bottlenecks and apply tuning measures for improved response time and throughput.
• Follow secure coding standards and regulatory compliance requirements to safeguard customer data and align with telecom sector guidelines.
• Contribute to automation efforts in build, test, and deployment processes within CI/CD pipelines for Java Spring Boot AWS services.
• Maintain clear and thorough documentation including system designs, data flows, and operational procedures for maintainability and easier troubleshooting.
• Participate actively in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring adherence to architectural and code quality standards.
• Engage in incident response and root cause analyses with an aim to implement permanent solutions improving the reliability of telecom platforms.

Qualifications

• 6 to 8 years of hands-on experience in Java and Spring Boot development focusing on enterprise-grade transactional systems.
• Expertise in writing and tuning advanced SQL and PL/SQL queries and stored procedures on relational databases such as MySQL or equivalent.
• Proven practical experience deploying and managing applications on AWS cloud, including familiarity with deployment, configuration, cost optimization, and monitoring.
• Solid skills in JavaScript and front-end development to create responsive and accessible user interfaces for telecom business operations.
• Demonstrated background working in the telecom domain with knowledge of billing, network operations, customer management, and associated data models.
• Strong foundation in software engineering practices like OOP design, version control, branching strategies, code reviews, and automated testing.
• Effective communication capabilities to liaise with technical and non-technical stakeholders within a hybrid work environment to align requirements and delivery.
