Senior Service Technician - Electric & Passenger Vehicles

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Technician specializing in Electric Vehicles (EV) and Passenger Vehicles (PV) to join our service department. This role requires diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining both electric and conventional vehicles to meet manufacturer standards while ensuring customer satisfaction and workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and address electrical, mechanical, and electronic faults using OEM-approved diagnostic tools for EVs and PVs.
• Perform routine maintenance, warranty-related repairs, and general servicing in compliance with manufacturer standards.
• Conduct road tests and final quality assessments before vehicle handover.
• Accurately document job cards, service history, and repair details.
• Adhere strictly to EV high-voltage safety protocols and workshop safety norms.
• Mentor junior technicians to enhance their technical knowledge and efficiency.
• Coordinate with Service Advisors to communicate repair statuses and technical discoveries.
• Maintain workshop tools and diagnostic equipment properly and orderly.
• Engage in technical trainings and incorporate newly introduced servicing procedures.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization within the workshop area.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or ITI in Automobile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or allied fields.
• EV certification or completion of high-voltage system training is advantageous.
• Valid driving license is mandatory.
• 5 to 8 years of relevant automotive servicing experience, with a minimum of 2 years working on Electric Vehicles preferred.
• Proficient with OEM diagnostic systems and repair methodologies.

Essential Skills

• Strong aptitude for diagnostics and troubleshooting.
• Comprehensive understanding of EV powertrains, battery management systems, charging infrastructure, and high-voltage safety.
• In-depth knowledge of passenger vehicle mechanical and electrical systems including engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, and steering.
• Capable of interpreting wiring schematics and technical service manuals.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Efficient time management and solution-oriented problem-solving ability.
• Familiarity with computer-based service management platforms.

Working Conditions

The role is based within a workshop environment outfitted with both mechanical and electrical servicing equipment. Usage of personal protective equipment is compulsory. Periodic extended working hours may be required during peak operational times.
