The role combines Agile leadership with hands-on project management to keep delivery on track, reduce risk, and maintain strong alignment across stakeholders.
The right person will bring a confident leadership style, strong communication ability, and a results-driven approach. Success in this role depends on building accountability, coordinating across business and technology teams, and consistently pushing initiatives toward completion.
Core Responsibilities

- Own planning, execution, progress tracking, and reporting across several workstreams.
- Spot risks, issues, and interdependencies early and take action to reduce project impact.
- Run Scrum ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming.
- Work closely with business, technology, and operations partners to keep priorities, deliverables, and timelines aligned.
- Build a culture of ownership and make sure follow-up actions are completed.
- Communicate clearly and proactively with stakeholders at different levels of the organization.
- Track project status, clear roadblocks, and help teams meet delivery goals.
- Prepare and maintain project documents, status updates, and executive-level summaries.
- Encourage continuous improvement and Agile best practices while staying focused on practical delivery outcomes.
Required Background
- 5 to 10 years of experience in Scrum Master, Project Manager, or blended Agile delivery leadership roles.
- Hands-on experience in healthcare and/or PBM environments is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of Agile delivery methods, Scrum practices, and project management fundamentals.
- Proven record of identifying risks, resolving issues, and delivering projects successfully.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to lead with presence and influence stakeholders without direct reporting authority.
- Well-developed skills in organization, facilitation, and stakeholder coordination.
- Experience working in matrixed, cross-functional environments.
Preferred Experience
- Background in large-scale healthcare technology, operational, or transformation programs.
- Relevant credentials such as Scrum Master, PMP, SAFe, or similar Agile certifications.
- A clear track record of progressive growth in scope and responsibility.
- Ability to balance Agile coaching with practical project execution and delivery management.
Ideal Candidate Traits
- Comfortable leading important discussions and guiding decisions with executive-level confidence.
- Persistent, dependable, and committed to following issues through to resolution.
- Transparent communicator who keeps stakeholders well informed.
- Able to handle obstacles effectively and drive mitigation efforts to closure.
- Brings together technical understanding, business judgment, and strong interpersonal skills to produce results.
