Job description
About the company
Fluid in Motion is a hydraulic industry business with more than 20 years of experience. The company designs, manufactures, and installs hydraulic and lubrication systems tailored to customer needs, and backs this with workshop support, field servicing, and installation work. Based in the southern metropolitan area of Perth, it serves clients across oil and gas, mining, construction, earthmoving, and maritime sectors.
About the role
This is a newly created position for a commercially minded Senior Sales / Project Manager who can help expand the business across Western Australia. The role is based in Perth, WA, with travel to sites and ports across the metropolitan area. It is suited to someone who wants a role that goes beyond classic sales and may develop over time into a combined business development and project management position, taking responsibility for customer outcomes from initial opportunity through delivery.
The role will work closely with operations and leadership at the start, with future plans to build out a sales team as the business grows. It offers a base salary of $100,000 to $150,000 plus superannuation, vehicle, fuel card, laptop, phone, and uncapped commission.
Key responsibilities
- Grow the company’s existing parts sales function into a major business division.
- Source and develop new opportunities across mining, industrial, construction, marine, offshore, and infrastructure markets.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing clients.
- Carry out customer visits, site meetings, port visits, and solution-focused discussions.
- Prepare proposals, quotations, and commercial presentations.
- Work with internal teams to support successful project delivery.
- Assist with shutdown work, maintenance programs, vessel support activities, and reactive service needs.
- Spot and pursue longer-term growth opportunities within customer accounts.
- Support operational and project coordination as the position expands.
Candidate profile
The business is looking for someone with 3 to 5 years of experience in sales or business development, ideally with exposure to mining, industrial, construction, marine, mechanical, hydraulics, or similar environments. The right person will be confident building relationships, communicating clearly, and managing a sales pipeline independently while also working well in a team.
A practical, commercially aware, and solution-oriented approach is important, along with the confidence to speak with supervisors, maintenance teams, procurement staff, marine crews, and senior managers. The role also requires a willingness to be hands-on and to support operational work when needed. Experience with SimPRO would be an advantage.
Preferred background
- Experience in hydraulics, hose and fittings, fluid power, mechanical services, marine systems, or engineering-based solutions.
- An existing network within Western Australia’s industrial sectors.
- Experience working with offshore, port, maritime, or vessel operations.
- Previous involvement in project management or service delivery coordination.
Eligibility and requirements
- 3 to 5 years of relevant sales or business development experience.
- Current Australian C-class driver’s licence.
- National Police Clearance.
- Ability to travel across the Perth metropolitan area, including sites and ports.
Why this role stands out
Fluid in Motion offers the chance to join a growing hydraulic and engineered services business with strong industry relationships, responsive delivery capability, and a solid reputation for supporting customers in demanding environments such as mine sites, construction projects, workshops, and offshore vessel decks. The company values integrity, client support, and the development of its people.
Work environment
The role is based in Perth and involves on-site work, along with regular travel to customer sites and port locations. It is designed for someone comfortable operating in fast-moving settings and turning conversations into practical business outcomes.
Additional information
This is a full-time, permanent position. The role is new to the business and may evolve into a broader hybrid sales and project management function over time, with the potential to help shape a future sales team.
