Role Overview
The Senior Safety and Compliance Specialist will champion the safety and regulatory adherence efforts at Red Sea International Airport. This role is central to managing and enhancing the Safety Management System (SMS), conducting thorough risk assessments and incident investigation processes, and ensuring compliance with GACA and global aviation regulations. Collaboration with various airport departments, contractors, and regulators is essential to uphold superior safety standards and foster a proactive safety-oriented culture.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive safety risk assessment activities and implement appropriate control measures to mitigate identified risks.
- Oversee incident investigations including root cause analysis and formulation of corrective actions.
- Manage the deployment and ongoing enhancement of the Safety Management System (SMS).
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, surveys, and compliance checks ensuring adherence to regulatory frameworks.
- Ensure full compliance with regulations mandated by GACA and international organizations such as ICAO, IATA, EASA, and ACI.
- Analyze safety data and monitor Safety Performance Indicators (SPIs), compiling detailed performance reports.
- Coordinate safety efforts and compliance initiatives across airport divisions, contractors, ground handling services, and regulatory bodies.
- Support and participate in emergency preparedness exercises, safety awareness programs, and compliance campaigns.
Candidate Requirements
- Must be a Saudi national.
- A bachelor’s degree in Aviation Safety, Engineering, Airport Management, or a related discipline is required.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in aviation safety, airport operations, or related compliance fields.
- In-depth understanding of Safety Management Systems (SMS) and relevant aviation regulatory environments.
- Proven expertise in conducting risk assessments, safety audits, investigative procedures, and regulatory compliance monitoring.
- Relevant professional safety certifications and specialized SMS training will be an advantage.
- Strong analytical abilities with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
