Job description
Overview
We are seeking a Senior Risk and Compliance Business Partner to join a respected financial services firm based in Auckland CBD, offering a hybrid working model. This is a senior role focused on partnering with business units to manage risk, compliance, controls, and governance within a regulated environment such as insurance or banking.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business leaders to deliver pragmatic, risk-informed compliance advice that supports commercial objectives.
- Drive the application and continuous use of risk management frameworks across business operations.
- Assist business units in understanding and fulfilling their compliance duties and accountability requirements.
- Coordinate risk and control self-assessments (RCSAs) and aid in monitoring risk controls and key risk indicators (KRIs).
- Provide counsel on governance, policy adherence, regulatory requirements, and operational risk issues.
- Support risk evaluations for new business initiatives and projects.
- Foster strong relationships to elevate the importance of risk and assurance company-wide.
- Encourage and cultivate a robust risk culture through coaching, engagement, and trusted partnership.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in compliance, risk management, governance advisory, or operational risk within financial services, insurance, banking, consulting, or similar regulated environments.
- Demonstrated knowledge of first-line risk and compliance functions is highly appreciated.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influence skills with senior leadership.
- A practical, solution-oriented mindset coupled with good judgment to prioritize effectively.
- Experience implementing risk frameworks, conducting RCSAs, monitoring KRIs, and fulfilling regulatory obligations.
- Comfort and confidence working alongside senior executives and diverse business units.
- Familiarity with Australian and/or New Zealand regulatory landscapes is advantageous.
