Job description

About Everyday Dose

Everyday Dose is a fast-growing functional coffee brand dedicated to helping customers enhance focus, clarity, and overall performance without the typical coffee crash. As a nine-figure Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) company with a loyal subscriber base, we are expanding our retention efforts to align with growth ambitions.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Retention Manager to lead the execution of our retention strategy. Reporting to the Senior Director of Retention, this individual contributor role requires hands-on ownership of subscriber onboarding, loyalty, and lifecycle marketing initiatives from planning through implementation, analysis, and iteration. The position offers remote work with an optional hybrid setup for Austin, TX-based candidates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ownership of three main retention areas: onboarding (first 30-60 days personalized content, dosing education, flexible product options to reduce early churn), ongoing retention programs (loyalty, rewards, cross-selling, upgrades, dunning flows, cancellation optimizations), and lead conversion leveraging CRM and collaboration with growth teams.
  • Develop and manage lifecycle marketing campaigns using platforms like Klaviyo, including emails and SMS flows, from drafting briefs to execution.
  • Analyze subscriber cohorts, churn data, and campaign metrics to uncover insights, quantify opportunities, and validate impact.
  • Employ AI tools extensively to accelerate research, content creation, data analysis, and quality assurance.
  • Design, execute, and interpret A/B tests for continuous performance improvement.
  • Coordinate cross-functional projects, aligning stakeholders, and maintaining momentum in a dynamic startup environment.
  • Monitor core metrics such as repurchase rate, churn, customer lifetime value, and recovery rate, providing clear reporting on outcomes.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience working in D2C ecommerce environments, preferably within wellness, health, or subscription-based businesses with knowledge of subscriber lifecycle mechanics.
  • Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to decision making rather than relying solely on intuition.
  • Proficiency in daily use of AI tools to boost efficiency and business impact.
  • Effective at writing or briefing authentic, converting communications, understanding when to write independently or involve copywriters.
  • Detail-oriented with a proven ability to deliver initiatives properly and efficiently.
  • Self-starter who independently identifies solutions and takes ambiguous problems from concept to completion.
  • Experienced in managing cross-departmental projects and building alignment without formal authority.
  • Motivated by ownership and the fast pace of a startup environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with retention and lifecycle tools such as Klaviyo, Skio, Superfiliate, or Northbeam.
  • Understanding of subscription-specific challenges including dunning processes, involuntary churn, cancellation flows, and win-back economics.
  • Experience designing or analyzing A/B tests.

Success Measures

Within six months, the successful candidate will have taken full ownership of onboarding and retention initiatives, scaled multiple programs to full implementation, and demonstrated measurable improvements in key metrics such as repurchase rate, churn, and recovery rate without needing direct daily oversight.

Salary and Benefits

The base salary range for this role is $132,000 to $140,000 annually, adjusted for experience, education, skills, and location. Total compensation includes additional equity and benefits.

  • Health, vision, and dental insurance with 75% premium coverage for employees working at least 32 hours weekly, effective the first month after hire.
  • 401(k) plan with company matching up to 80% of employee contributions capped at 5% of salary, eligible after completing three months.
  • $500 monthly wellness credits through JOON to support health and wellness spending.
  • Access to Helpr for trusted backup childcare and family support services, assisting with family needs at home and work.
