Job description

About the Company

Taama is a dynamic, fast-growing startup based in Singapore focused on revolutionizing regulatory compliance for global food and supplement products. Supported by Iterative Capital, the company is developing an innovative compliance platform that streamlines and standardizes regulatory review across multiple regions including North America, Europe, and APAC, with plans to expand into sectors like beauty, personal care, and pet food.

Role Summary

We are searching for a seasoned regulatory expert to join our team, either on a full-time or part-time basis depending on mutual fit. In this role, you will collaborate with founders, product managers, and software engineers to convert regulatory knowledge into automated compliance tools that improve efficiency and accuracy for compliance teams worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a regulatory intelligence system by analyzing laws, guidance, and databases, translating complex regulatory rules into structured logic applicable within our platform.
  • Perform quality assurance on compliance evaluations produced by our software, ensuring accurate ingredient classification, claims validation, labeling requirements, and document compliance across different jurisdictions.
  • Establish and refine the standards and review processes defining regulatory correctness as we grow into additional markets and product categories.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

  • Minimum five years of professional experience in regulatory affairs or product compliance.
  • Extensive hands-on review of food, beverage, or supplement products for compliance purposes, with strong knowledge of regulatory interpretation, enforcement, and audits.
  • Expertise spanning various stages of the product lifecycle, including product classification, ingredient and formulation assessment, claims evaluation, label review, and regulatory documentation management.
  • Experience working with regulations in at least two regions among North America, EU/UK, Australia & New Zealand, or APAC; familiarity with three or more is preferred.
  • A proactive, builder’s mindset eager to work closely with a startup founding team to create regulatory decision frameworks from the ground up.

Why Join Taama?

  • Join a low-ego, collaborative environment where your contributions have meaningful impact.
  • Influence and help shape a cutting-edge product in its formative stages.
  • Collaborate directly with founders who have backgrounds at renowned companies such as Nestlé, Dole, Fonterra, and DSM.
  • Play a key role in evolving regulatory compliance by enhancing, not replacing, professional expertise.
