Job description

Role Overview

This position is responsible for running the entire recruiting cycle for a range of administrative, professional, clinical, and other healthcare roles. The recruiter uses creative internal and external sourcing methods to attract, screen, and recommend candidates for hire, while also helping candidates understand career opportunities and the advantages of joining SEARHC and serving Southeast Alaska communities.

About SEARHC

SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) is a nonprofit health organization focused on supporting the health needs of residents across Southeast Alaska. The organization views its people as its greatest strength and prioritizes employee growth through professional development opportunities.

Working here is intended to be a meaningful career, supported by a strong benefits package that includes retirement, paid time off, paid parental leave, medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, and both long-term and short-term disability coverage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute targeted recruiting, advertising, and outreach plans to attract qualified applicants across open roles.
  • Build sourcing strategies for hard-to-fill positions by identifying, engaging, screening, and interviewing both active and passive candidates.
  • Represent SEARHC to applicants, professional networks, educational institutions, and industry organizations to strengthen the employer brand.
  • Answer candidate questions, assess qualifications, and guide applicants through each step of the selection process.
  • Partner with the recruitment team and other stakeholders to support new hire orientation and onboarding.
  • Lead and coordinate Recruitment Coordinators so hiring activities remain efficient and aligned with company policy.
  • Handle additional duties related to the role as needed.

Education, Certifications, and Experience

A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Communications, Sociology, Psychology, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent experience may be accepted in place of the degree if the candidate has at least ten years of applicable industry experience.

Five or more years of recruiting experience is required, ideally in healthcare. Experience with modern recruiting technologies such as social media sourcing, candidate engagement platforms, search engine optimization, and virtual career fairs is also expected. Prior use of an applicant tracking system is preferred.

Preferred credentials include Certified Health Care Recruiter (CHCR) through the National Association for Health Care Recruitment, as well as Certified Internet Recruiter (CIR) or Advanced Certified Internet Recruiter (ACIR) designations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The role calls for familiarity with human resources processes, personnel administration practices, recruiting, staffing, marketing, sales, and advertising methods. Candidates should also understand Public Law 93-638 and how it applies to SEARHC’s hiring practices.

Strong teamwork, relationship-building, oral and written communication, prioritization, multitasking, deadline management, independent troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills are important. The role also requires the ability to create a welcoming environment where applicants and staff can raise concerns openly.

Travel

Up to 25% travel is expected, using jet, small aircraft, and ferry transportation.

Pay and Additional Notes

The pay range for this position is $34.15 to $47.93 per hour.
