Role Overview
The Senior Recruiter for Go-To-Market (GTM) roles at Cursor plays a crucial part in shaping the company’s growth by building and expanding teams such as Sales, Field Engineering, Customer Success, Partnerships, Revenue Operations, and GTM Leadership. Recruiting at Cursor is viewed as a strategic function, and the recruiter works closely with leadership to align talent strategies with business goals. This role commands significant influence and autonomy, requiring a business-minded approach and deep involvement in talent decisions.
Primary Responsibilities
- Collaborate intimately with GTM leadership to grasp business objectives, prioritize hiring, and assess organizational requirements.
- Act as a strategic advisor counseling leaders on role definitions, team formation, and hiring decisions.
- Manage the complete recruitment lifecycle with a focus on speed and excellence.
- Develop and implement talent acquisition strategies for key and impactful GTM roles.
- Source, engage, and secure top-tier talent through proactive outreach, network development, and referrals.
- Uphold a high standard for hiring and participate actively in evaluation and calibration processes.
- Provide insights on market trends, competitor activities, and talent availability to guide hiring strategies and workforce planning.
- Ensure a superior candidate experience aligned with Cursor’s culture and values.
- Work with hiring teams to enhance interview formats, selection rigor, and overall process effectiveness.
- Contribute to offer strategy, negotiations, and closing of candidates.
- Utilize recruitment data and metrics to identify inefficiencies and enhance hiring outcomes.
- Help establish scalable recruitment procedures and best practices to support ongoing growth.
Qualifications and Skills
- More than 10 years of recruitment experience, preferably in fast-growing tech environments.
- Experience recruiting GTM professionals across Sales, Field Engineering, Solutions Engineering, Customer Success, Partnerships, Revenue Operations, or Leadership roles within GTM.
- Demonstrated ability to act as a strategic partner to executives and hiring managers.
- Expertise in sourcing, talent mapping, and engaging elite candidates.
- Strong judgment and assessment capabilities in talent acquisition and team building.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with confidence to advise and challenge senior stakeholders.
- High operational discipline, capable of managing numerous high-priority recruitment processes simultaneously.
- Data-oriented mindset to leverage recruitment analytics for improved decision-making.
- Proven success in closing competitive candidates.
- Driven, with ownership mentality and proactive approach.
- Passion for AI, developer tools, and advancing foundational software companies.
