Senior Recovery Worker - Serious Mental Illness Rehabilitation Project

About the Role

Together for Mental Wellbeing invites applications for a Senior Recovery Worker position to support its Serious Mental Illness (SMI) Rehabilitation Project based at The River Centre, Hellesdon Hospital, Norfolk. This fixed-term contract runs until March 31, 2027, involving 37.5 hours per week of flexible working from Monday to Friday, with no shift work or personal care duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct, person-centred support and recovery planning to individuals with complex mental health needs including psychosis.
• Promote psychoeducation, physical health, and wellbeing initiatives.
• Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals, social care workers, legal advisers, occupational therapists, nurses, psychologists, and psychiatrists within a multidisciplinary team.
• Develop and maintain strong connections with local community services and resources.
• Contribute knowledge and learning across the broader team and support innovative partnership models.
• Help individuals enhance both their mental and physical health and wellbeing.

Candidate Profile and Expertise Required

• Experience in mental health environments, potentially including inpatient, drug and alcohol, forensic, homelessness, dual diagnosis, or high-risk services.
• Strong commitment to recovery-oriented, strengths-based, and inclusive support approaches.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships.
• Capable of working well within multidisciplinary teams.
• Flexibility to occasionally work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
• Possession of a full driving licence and access to a vehicle due to service area coverage.
