Job description

Role Overview

Al Emadi Stones is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor in Doha, Qatar. The role focuses on quantity surveying and commercial control for marble-related projects, including estimating, tendering, measurement, valuation, and cost management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review package requirements, prepare briefing for RFQs, and support the opening of packages.
  • Carry out quantity take-offs from drawings and verify quantities through site surveys and comparison against drawings.
  • Identify, document, and close out potential variations and claims.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for marble supply, installation, and finishing works.
  • Develop tender documentation and bills of quantities for marble-related scopes.
  • Assess supplier and contractor quotations to confirm commercial competitiveness.
  • Prepare, draft, and manage contracts with marble suppliers, fabricators, and installers.
  • Measure marble quantities for flooring, cladding, countertops, and related applications.
  • Monitor actual usage against planned quantities to reduce waste.
  • Prepare valuations for interim payments and final accounts, including IPCs for clients and sub-contractors.
  • Track project expenditure and help control costs to avoid budget overruns.
  • Spot commercial and delivery risks such as damage to materials, supply delays, or design revisions, and recommend mitigation actions.
  • Produce regular financial and progress updates for stakeholders.
  • Coordinate between architects, contractors, and clients on marble-related financial matters.

Skills & Requirements

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Excel is required.
  • BIM knowledge is preferred.
  • Strong numerical ability and analytical thinking.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and technical specifications.
  • Experience in cost estimating and budget forecasting.
  • Good communication and negotiation skills for dealing with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Ability to present financial information clearly through reports and updates.
