Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Quality Assurance Manager to lead and develop a strategic QA function that supports innovative insurance technology solutions. This role entails crafting QA strategy, creating scalable frameworks, and managing high-performing QA teams across both onshore and offshore settings. You will be instrumental in ensuring successful technology deployments by setting quality standards, advancing automation practices, and promoting delivery excellence. This opportunity combines leadership, technical expertise, process optimization, and collaboration with clients and delivery teams within a dynamic technology services environment. This position is remote and based in the United States.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive QA strategy aligned with business goals and delivery models.
- Build and enhance QA operating models, methodologies, standards, and best practices from inception.
- Establish scalable QA processes tailored to hybrid onshore and offshore environments.
- Lead and mentor QA teams through recruitment, career development, performance management, and coaching.
- Define team composition, roles, and skill development plans for sustained growth.
- Manage QA deliverables including strategies, plans, execution methods, defect tracking, and progress reporting across client engagements.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and delivery leaders to synchronize QA activities with project schedules and business objectives.
- Monitor QA progress, identify risks, manage defect resolution, and escalate critical issues.
- Engage in client communications regarding QA strategy, readiness, results, and release processes.
- Lead continuous improvement via lessons learned, process reviews, and optimization initiatives.
- Research, evaluate, and implement QA tools and automation frameworks like Selenium and Playwright.
- Develop automation strategies supporting CI/CD pipelines and foster quality best practices within Agile delivery environments.
- Work closely with engineering, architecture, sales, and account teams to integrate quality throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
- Ensure QA practices comply with insurance technology standards and requirements.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline, or equivalent QA/testing experience.
- 7 to 10+ years of experience in quality assurance, software testing, or related technology roles.
- A minimum of 5 years in leadership or people management positions within QA.
- Proven track record in building, scaling, and formalizing QA teams and functions.
- Experience managing hybrid onshore and offshore QA delivery models.
- Extensive background in enterprise software testing, preferably in insurance technology contexts.
- Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall project delivery methodologies.
- Comprehensive knowledge of QA methodologies, software testing lifecycles, defect management, and quality governance.
- Hands-on experience with automation frameworks and tools such as Selenium or Playwright.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing workflows.
- Preferred experience with insurance platforms like Insurity or Guidewire.
- Excellent skills in leadership, communication, analysis, problem-solving, and stakeholder management.
