About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Project Planner to join a premier engineering and construction firm specializing in major pharmaceutical projects in Dublin. This 12-month contract role requires on-site presence 5 days a week, managing complex life sciences projects from pre-construction through commissioning phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the planning function for one or multiple projects to ensure smooth execution.
- Create and update comprehensive project schedules spanning all phases including pre-construction, construction, and commissioning.
- Generate regular progress reports, milestone forecasts, and critical path evaluations.
- Utilize Earned Value Management (EVM) methods to track project performance effectively.
- Conduct site audits to verify that schedules reflect current project status accurately.
- Lead planning meetings and coordinate closely with project teams, clients, and subcontractors.
- Develop tender programs, resource allocation charts, and cash-loaded schedules.
- Support weekly workface planning and provide essential program data for payment claims.
- Document delays, analyze disruptions, and contribute to extension of time claims and disputes resolution.
- Prepare contract review reports ensuring precise and high-quality planning documentation.
- Offer expert planning insights, identify risks, and suggest feasible solutions.
- Mentor junior planners and temporarily assume responsibilities of Planning Manager or Project Planner as necessary.
Candidate Profile
- Proven expertise with Primavera P6 for planning activities.
- Solid experience in construction planning, specifically within pharmaceutical projects.
- Minimum 5 years’ involvement in pharmaceutical construction and 3–5 years specifically in planning roles.
- In-depth knowledge of Earned Value Management techniques.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent skills in communication and managing diverse stakeholders.
- Capability to collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary project teams.
