Role Overview

The Senior Project Manager will lead a portfolio of fitout projects for enduring, respected clients, managing them from early feasibility through design, procurement, and final delivery stages. This role serves as the principal point of contact for clients, ensuring timely, budget-conscious, and scope-compliant project completions while managing stakeholder expectations and supporting broader business growth strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all phases of project lifecycle activities from inception through completion
• Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables clearly
• Handle procurement processes and manage contracts effectively
• Manage project schedules and control costs diligently
• Maintain strong communication and relationships with clients and stakeholders
• Engage in design management, including navigating the consent approval process
• Supervise external contractors and consultants, ensuring best practices in construction delivery
• Address technical construction challenges with proactive problem solving

Candidate Requirements

• A minimum of eight years’ experience working with fitout contractors or project management consultancies focused on commercial fitouts
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple stakeholders
• Proven experience managing all stages of fitout construction projects
• Comprehensive knowledge of New Zealand Building Standards and tendering procedures
• Relevant qualifications such as Construction Management, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, or related field
