Team and Role Overview

The Chief Business Officer team is central to Airbnb's worldwide growth, focusing on expanding beyond its core accommodation offerings into adjacent travel services. The team works to commercialize and scale new business areas that enhance convenience and enrich travel experiences.

As a Senior Programs and Business Operations Lead, you will help drive the global launch and growth of Airbnb’s emerging service categories within its Services business. This role involves collaborating across functions, applying precise analytical skills, and building the operational frameworks essential for integrating new services into travelers' journeys.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead strategic planning and management of end-to-end programs to launch and expand new service categories, ensuring readiness and alignment with business goals globally.
• Coordinate across multiple teams including Business Operations, Market Management, Product, Engineering, Design, Marketing, and Legal to align on objectives and deliver results without direct authority.
• Use advanced analytics capabilities, including SQL, to extract data insights, construct financial models, size markets, and track key performance indicators such as revenue and conversion rates to enable quick, data-driven decisions.
• Develop supply strategies by determining the best approach to sourcing—whether through local hosts or partnerships—to accelerate market entry and expansion.
• Establish and refine operational processes and systems, identify bottlenecks, develop risk contingencies, and incorporate local market feedback to enhance scaling efficiency.

Required Expertise

• Over 12 years of experience in business operations, program management, or strategic roles in fast-growing businesses, preferably with digital marketplace experience.
• Strong capability in both strategic formulation and operational delivery, with proven ability to build and implement scalable programs across global markets.
• Advanced analytical proficiency with required SQL skills to independently analyze raw data, derive insights, and translate them into actionable strategies.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, capable of influencing senior executives and fostering accountability among diverse teams.
• Proven success in fostering cross-functional collaboration and promoting transparency and alignment.
• Adaptable and innovative thinker comfortable in ambiguous, fast-moving environments, adept at designing new business models and operational frameworks.
• Experience in process optimization, risk management, and establishing best practices to drive efficiency at scale.

Location and Work Arrangement

This position is remote-eligible within the United States, though applicants must reside in states where Airbnb has a registered entity (exceptions apply). Occasional office visits and offsite meetings may be required as agreed with the manager.

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary range for this role is $204,000 to $249,000 USD, with actual pay dependent on experience, skills, and market factors. Additional compensation includes bonuses, equity options, benefits, and employee travel credits.
