Job description
About the Role
This position sits within the consumer marketing team and focuses on shaping the strategy, messaging, and launch plans for LinkedIn’s core consumer experience. The goal is to support a platform that helps professionals connect, grow, and succeed. The role works across product management, design, engineering, research, marketing, and communications to help define the future direction of consumer products and the roadmap behind them.
The role is based in San Francisco, Mountain View, Chicago, or New York. The work arrangement is hybrid, meaning you will split time between working from home and working from a LinkedIn office on selected days based on team needs.
Responsibilities
- Help define the direction of LinkedIn’s consumer-facing product experiences by using member insights and partnering closely with product and design teams.
- Lead market research and competitive analysis to guide new product ideas and messaging across the core consumer journey.
- Create positioning, messaging, and go-to-market plans for new launches, including the right channels for rollout.
- Share product changes and updates with members in a clear, engaging way by turning technical details into compelling stories.
- Act as a go-to expert on the consumer space and spread key learnings across the organization.
- Plan, monitor, and evaluate experiments and campaigns to understand their effect on core performance metrics.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent level of practical experience is required.
- At least 4 years of marketing experience, ideally with a background in product marketing.
- Preferred: 3 or more years marketing consumer digital products.
- Preferred: a strong history of shaping product direction and helping launch experiences that create clear business value.
- Preferred: the ability to use customer and market insights to make decisions, set priorities, and improve positioning, messaging, and audience targeting.
- Preferred: comfort working in a fast-moving, high-pressure environment while managing several projects and competing priorities.
- Preferred: hands-on experience with A/B testing and growth-focused experimentation.
- Preferred: excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical topics into clear, persuasive narratives.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $125,000 to $195,000 per year. Final compensation depends on factors such as skills, experience, certifications, and work location, and may vary in other locations due to labor-market differences.
The overall compensation package may also include an annual performance bonus, stock, benefits, and/or other incentive compensation plans.
