Job description
About the role
Affirm is reshaping consumer credit to be clearer and more customer-friendly, helping people buy now and pay later without hidden charges or compounding interest. The company’s broader mission is to expand honest financial products worldwide, and this role sits at the heart of that effort by strengthening the systems that support scalable, compliant fintech operations and faster product delivery.
As a Senior Product Manager on the Financial Platforms team, you will own foundational backend and data platform capabilities that support essential financial workflows, integrations, and reporting. You will work closely with engineering, data, and business stakeholders to design solutions that improve reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency while also enabling future product growth.
What you will do
- Tackle complex platform challenges by shaping practical execution plans that balance near-term needs with longer-term platform health.
- Set the strategy and direction for shared financial platform capabilities, core integrations, and services that power financial operations and reporting.
- Partner with Engineering and Data teams to define APIs, data agreements, platform boundaries, and migration approaches that strengthen scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Translate product goals into clear requirements, coordinate execution with cross-functional partners, and drive launches for key products and enhancements.
- Communicate progress, tradeoffs, and recommendations regularly to product, engineering, and senior leadership audiences.
What we are looking for
- At least 4 years of product management experience, ideally with a focus on platform-oriented products.
- A strong analytical approach with the ability to pair strategic thinking with practical, hands-on problem solving.
- A history of delivering and managing products that created meaningful business impact.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence a wide range of stakeholders.
- Comfort working through incomplete, contradictory, or unclear inputs and turning them into concrete plans.
- The technical depth to participate confidently in detailed product and engineering discussions.
- Either equivalent practical experience or a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
