Job description

About the Company

Finom is a European technology startup based in Amsterdam, building a mobile-first B2B finance platform for entrepreneurs. The product brings together banking capabilities, accounting, financial operations, and invoicing in one integrated solution designed to simplify day-to-day business money management.

The company recently completed a €115 million Series C equity financing round, adding about $133 million to its funding and taking total capital raised to roughly $346 million. This followed a $105 million growth round backed by General Catalyst, an investor that has supported companies such as Airbnb, HubSpot, KAYAK, and Stripe since 2021.

Beyond core banking, Finom is expanding its platform with invoicing and AI-supported accounting features, while growing across major European markets including Germany, France, the Netherlands, Italy, and Spain.

Finom emphasizes a startup mindset, where team members are encouraged to take ownership, work through complex problems, and move quickly from research to execution. The focus is on building products that create meaningful value for customers, employees, partners, and the business as a whole.

Role Overview

As a Senior Product Designer, you will own key design work within one of Finom’s core product areas. You will shape features end to end and directly influence the financial experience of tens of thousands of customers.

This position suits someone who enjoys solving difficult product challenges, aims for a very high standard of craft, and can turn ambitious business objectives into simple, elegant user experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take charge of design execution throughout the product journey, from early discovery and concept work through to implementation and final refinement.
  • Convert complex business and user needs into practical, intuitive design solutions centered on the customer.
  • Work closely with product managers and engineers to define scope, set priorities, and clarify expected outcomes.
  • Produce core design deliverables such as user journeys, wireframes, high-fidelity screens, and interactive prototypes.
  • Help improve and scale the design system so the interface remains consistent and extensible.
  • Actively contribute to usability studies, customer feedback analysis, and experiment-driven product iteration.
  • Support strategic initiatives including modular pricing, onboarding experience redesign, and AI Copilot development.

Candidate Profile

  • At least 4 years of experience in product design, preferably in fast-moving fintech or SaaS settings.
  • A portfolio that clearly shows strong user-centered thinking and polished design execution across different projects.
  • Hands-on experience designing complex products with multiple flows, states, and dependencies.
  • Comfort working in cross-functional teams alongside engineers, analysts, and product managers.
  • Ability to defend design choices using data, research findings, and direct customer input.
  • A curious, pragmatic mindset with consistently high standards for design quality and detail.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with AI-driven user experiences, accounting tools, invoicing products, or core banking workflows.

Benefits and Perks

  • Opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the product and grow with the company.
  • Access to ongoing learning, development, and opportunities for personal and professional growth.
  • Flexibility to work remotely or in a hybrid setup across Europe while traveling within the EU.
  • Stock options available to all employees, from junior team members to founders.
  • A modern, friendly, eco-conscious culture with strong support for employee wellbeing.
  • Work & Swim program: one month in a corporate apartment in Cyprus, combining work with a change of scenery and Mediterranean surroundings.
