Role overview
Currie & Brown is hiring a Senior Planner to support an Aviation Manufacturing project in Al Ain, UAE. In this role, you will help project leaders maintain a high level of service delivery, drive strong client outcomes, share learning across projects, contribute to a culture of innovation, and strengthen the firm’s standing as a trusted service partner.
Key responsibilities
- Create, maintain, and update the project master programme.
- Track programme activities continuously and provide regular status reporting.
- Take a proactive role in managing the contractor’s programme.
- Carry out detailed reviews of contractor schedules.
- Check that planning and project controls activities follow the project procedures.
- Develop and track the permitting and authority-approval timeline for the project.
- Prepare the baseline programme.
- Produce monthly reports and recovery plans when required.
- Compile and finalize weekly progress submissions and weekly quantity reports.
- Keep the Project Manager informed through weekly progress updates, completion forecasts, critical path analysis, and trend reviews.
- Assess the effect of approved changes and any deviations from agreed milestones and targets, including productivity checks and scenario analysis to support decision-making.
- Work closely with the Project Manager, Engineer, and Contractor to resolve schedule-related issues.
- Review contractor claims and prepare recommendation reports.
Experience and qualifications
The ideal candidate should have experience on aviation or manufacturing projects in the UAE or wider GCC. A BSc in a relevant field is required, along with substantial pre-contract and post-contract experience on major projects. Strong technical writing ability, client-facing confidence, and clear communication skills are essential. Hands-on experience with P6 software is also needed.
