Role Summary
The Operations Manager e-Commerce is responsible for managing sales and logistics with the goal of achieving high customer satisfaction and increasing the proportion of returning customers in the online store. Daily responsibilities include selling luxury products, coordinating order and delivery processes including selecting individual logistics partners, ensuring smooth coordination between warehouse, logistics, customer service, and external partners, as well as optimizing workflows in the shop and backend systems. The role involves monitoring all sales and logistics operations, identifying improvement opportunities, and implementing measures to enhance efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction. Collaboration with executive management and commercial leadership is integral. This is a full-time hybrid position with office locations possible in Bonn, Düsseldorf, or Berlin. One employee will report directly to this position. Compensation ranges between 75,000 and 85,000 EUR plus a performance bonus upon achieving targets.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in retail, preferably in e-commerce or distance selling, managing operational processes via phone and email.
- Strong sales skills and problem-solving abilities with a commitment to courteous and reliable communication.
- Responsibility for profit margins, process optimization, KPI analysis, and quality assurance focusing on continuous operational improvement.
- Excellent organizational skills with a structured approach to managing multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills for cross-departmental collaboration with logistics, customer service, marketing, and external service providers.
- Proficient IT and digital skills, including familiarity with shop systems, ERP/inventory management systems, and standard office tools.
- Completed vocational training with several years of professional experience; a degree or comparable qualification in business administration, business informatics, logistics, or e-commerce is advantageous. Experience in premium retail and excellent German language skills are expected.
