Role overview

National Bank of Fujairah is seeking a Senior Officer for Application Support to help drive digital transformation by introducing and running DevOps practices and tooling within the assigned domain. This role is centered on keeping production applications stable, improving support workflows, and contributing to the bank’s modernization initiatives.

What you will do

  • Maintain the reliability of production applications through automation and process improvements.
  • Support cloud migration efforts and help move workloads to cloud environments.
  • Review system usage and tune resources to improve efficiency.
  • Provide day-to-day support for internal and external customers using the bank’s applications.
  • Coordinate with vendors and manage vendor-related support activities.
  • Plan and execute disaster recovery exercises.
  • Define, track, and monitor service levels and related performance measures.
  • Handle application support activities in an agile, hands-on environment.
  • Contribute to incident management, change management, and support process optimization.

Required background

The position calls for a candidate with strong experience in application support, banking operations, vendor coordination, and IT service management. A solid grasp of DevOps concepts, automation, cloud platforms, and modern deployment practices is essential. Qualifications and certifications

  • Preferred professional certifications include Project Management Professional (PMP), ITIL Professional Leader, Certified Scrum Master, and SAFe Program Consultant.
  • Preferred technical certifications include AWS Certified Solution Architect or an equivalent credential, Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration or similar, Certified Kubernetes Administrator or equivalent, and Temenos T24 Certification or similar.

Experience needed

  • At least 7 years of overall IT experience.
  • A minimum of 4 years in application support teams working in an agile environment at a reputable bank or software vendor.
  • Hands-on exposure to supporting and troubleshooting internet banking products and services, with experience in corporate banking, trade finance, or cash management.
  • Experience with mobile banking applications and related platforms.
  • Working knowledge of channel integration ecosystems, including middleware, payment systems, and core banking.
  • Practical exposure to Java, REST APIs, and Spring.
  • Working experience with ITIL, incident management, and problem management.
  • Strong understanding of banking operations, financial services, and regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices, continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines, and cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code concepts, containerization tools such as Docker, orchestration with Kubernetes, automation tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef, and deployment tools such as Spinnaker or Octopus Deploy.
  • Experience with monitoring platforms such as DataDog, Splunk, or Dynatrace, including log analysis.
  • Strong scripting ability in Python, Bash, or PowerShell to automate tasks and improve efficiency.
