About the Role

Join Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) as a Senior Network Engineer to lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of advanced network infrastructure within one of the world’s largest financial networks. This opportunity involves managing a portfolio of mission-critical services, emphasizing reliability, low-latency performance, and operational excellence within a dynamic, collaborative global team.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and implement sophisticated Juniper and Arista data center and WAN network solutions supporting real-time market data and multicast services with focus on ultra-low latency, resilience, and high availability.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to collect and convert business and technical requirements into scalable and robust network architectures.
• Operate and maintain multi-vendor production network environments vital to business continuity.
• Create and update comprehensive network documentation including topology diagrams, configuration standards, and operating procedures.
• Deliver expert-level troubleshooting and escalation support for network events to ensure swift service restoration and minimal disruption.
• Keep abreast of emerging networking trends, technologies, and best practices, especially in WAN, data center, and low-latency environments.
• Adhere to ICE operational policies and promote compliance within the engineering activities.
• Ensure network changes are rigorously planned, tested, and safely executed through technical expertise.
• Collaborate effectively with vendors, service providers, and internal teams to deliver high-performance network solutions.

Requirements and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related discipline.
• Current professional certification in Juniper and/or Cisco technologies is mandatory.
• Over 7 years of networking experience including a minimum of 5 years designing and implementing complex Juniper-based global MPLS WAN networks.
• Comprehensive knowledge of WAN protocols such as BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, MPLS, VPLS, VPNs, and QoS.
• Proficient with multiple network platforms or operating systems including Junos, IOS/NX-OS, EOS, or F5 LTM/GTM.
• Extensive experience with stateful firewalls like Check Point FW-1 or Palo Alto.
• Deep technical understanding of TCP/IP stack, NAT, routing policies, route-maps, and access control lists.
• Hands-on expertise with Juniper products including Junos OS, MX routers, EX/QFX switches, and SRX firewalls.
• Advanced knowledge in multicast networking setup and troubleshooting using IGMP and PIM protocols.
• Ability to accurately discern and appropriately handle critical business-impacting incidents.
• Strong understanding of low-latency network design, Precision Time Protocol (PTP), and clock synchronization techniques.
• Fluency in Python with applied experience in network automation and operational improvements.
• Familiarity with configuration management and automation tools such as Ansible, Jinja templating, and JSON.
• Experience using network monitoring, management tools, and proficient in packet capture and analysis.
• Good command of Linux shell environment for network automation tasks.
• Capacity to adapt swiftly in a fast-evolving global networking environment.
