Job Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior MEP Manager to join our team in Doha, Qatar. This leadership role involves managing the entirety of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems within large-scale construction projects, especially airports. The chosen candidate will oversee project planning, coordination, and execution, ensuring projects are delivered timely, within budget, and adhere strictly to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate MEP-related activities throughout the project life cycle, ensuring seamless integration of all systems.
- Develop and oversee project scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation, tracking progress against milestones and financial targets.
- Manage and mentor MEP teams, including contractors and subcontractors, encouraging a culture focused on collaboration and safety compliance.
- Perform comprehensive analyses of MEP designs to detect conflicts, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost savings.
- Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with requirements and regulation compliances.
- Implement safety protocols, maintain quality assurance, and enforce compliance across all MEP operations.
- Generate and deliver regular reports outlining project progress and performance metrics to management and clients.
- Oversee procurement of MEP materials and equipment with attention to cost efficiency and specification adherence.
- Utilize BIM and project management software to improve coordination, visualization, and project decision-making.
- Identify and solve technical problems proactively to minimize construction delays.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 15 years’ relevant experience in MEP project management or coordination, including a minimum of 10 years working on airport projects.
- Extensive knowledge of MEP systems such as HVAC, fire protection, and building automation.
- Proven skills in project scheduling, budgeting, and controlling costs.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, or comparable BIM software platforms.
- Experienced leader in managing multidisciplinary teams and engaging multiple stakeholders.
- In-depth understanding of applicable building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards for MEP systems.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to make effective decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Previous projects in the Middle East or similar environments is preferable.
- PMP certification or equivalent is an advantage.
- Familiarity with MEP coordination and clash detection software tools is beneficial.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite and various project management platforms.
