About the Role
Think Academy NZ is expanding and invites experienced tutors to teach senior secondary students in Mathematics and English. The role involves supporting students from Years 9 to 13, focusing on one-on-one or small-group sessions (up to five students). Tutors are needed at locations in Hobsonville and Albany, Auckland.
The position requires proficiency in one or more curricula: NCEA, Cambridge (CAIE), and International Baccalaureate (IB). Lesson schedules are flexible and include weekday afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct stimulating Mathematics or English lessons for senior secondary learners.
- Assist students in preparing for assessments and examinations.
- Clarify and adapt teaching methods to accommodate varying learning preferences.
- Track and communicate students' academic progress regularly.
- Create and sustain an encouraging and supportive environment for learning.
Desired Qualifications and Profile
- Prior experience teaching or tutoring secondary school students.
- Strong familiarity with at least one of the following curricula: NCEA, Cambridge (CAIE), or IB.
- A Bachelor’s degree or a higher qualification relevant to the subject area.
- Effective communication and strong interpersonal abilities.
- Dependable, professional, and committed to student success.
- Possesses legal authorization to work in New Zealand.
