Overview
This role leads the comprehensive supply planning and production scheduling for the Potato Chips category within the North Region. The objective is to maintain optimal service quality, preserve healthy inventory levels, maximize network efficiency, and enhance cost productivity. Collaboration with teams across Agro, Manufacturing, Procurement, Category, and Commercial sectors is key to achieving sustained growth and operational excellence.
Scope
- Manage supply planning and production scheduling within the Northern manufacturing network for Potato Chips.
- Oversee Rough Cut Capacity Planning and Detailed Production Planning (DPP).
- Drive decisions related to sourcing and network optimization, balancing service quality, expenses, and capacity use.
- Lead implementation of new product developments, promotions, packaging updates, SKU rationalization, and product changeovers.
- Achieve key supply chain KPIs including Service Levels, Master Production Schedule compliance, demand and production adherence, inventory health, primary freight cost, and productivity metrics.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the main liaison for supply planning, coordinating with Manufacturing, Category, R&D, Procurement, and Agro divisions to ensure timely decisions and resolve issues.
- Support the Sales and Operations Execution (S&OE) process from the supply perspective by ensuring plan alignment and timely adjustments across demands including new products and innovations.
- Develop monthly, weekly, and detailed production schedules that align with demand forecasts, capacity levels, and inventory targets.
- Ensure all innovation activities, product changeovers, and new product deliveries are executed within set timelines to support PepsiCo's innovation agenda.
- Manage ESP / JDA systems modules such as Tactical Sourcing, Distribution Requirements Planning, Replenishment Planning, Inventory Optimization, and Detailed Production Planning.
- Promote continuous improvement in supply planning by leveraging network optimization tools like LLamasoft and Lyric.
- Boost network productivity annually by ensuring sourcing through the most efficient network and enabling capacity enhancement decisions.
- Collaborate with Planning and Performance teams to plan capacities aligned with annual operating plans and strategic business plans, ensuring new capacities are placed appropriately in terms of location, brand, and packaging mix.
- Lead end-to-end cost optimization efforts in planning in partnership with Finance, Agro, and Manufacturing to drive profitable growth for the India business.
- Maintain optimum stock levels fulfilling sales demand per required compliance while advancing working capital improvements in association with Finance.
- Minimize finished goods write-offs and raw material/packaging material losses year-on-year via efficient planning and collaboration with sales and manufacturing plants.
- Balance freight costs and service levels amidst dynamic supply conditions through technological solutions and coordination with field teams to optimize sourcing supporting primary freight delivery.
Qualifications
- 6 to 8 years of experience in supply chain or logistics operations, preferably in FMCG.
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA in Supply Chain or Operations Management from a recognized business school is preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in supply chain planning, inventory control, and related areas.
- Strong familiarity with planning automation tools such as JDA, OMP, SAP, and LLamasoft.
- Experience leading mature S&OP and S&OE enabled supply chain teams.
- Excellent analytical abilities with proficiency in data analysis tools and methodologies.
- Outstanding communication, influence, and collaboration capabilities.
- A customer-focused mindset with a clear understanding of critical client needs and developments.
