Role Overview
The Senior Manager of Strategy and Business Operations at Tilt leads critical, high-impact initiatives that span corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, investor relations, and operational business processes across multiple markets. This US-based remote position demands autonomy and a capacity to navigate undefined, complex challenges by framing issues, crafting data-driven recommendations, aligning senior leadership and teams, and executing strategies end-to-end. The role includes representing Tilt externally and occasionally traveling for company and market visits.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead top-level strategic initiatives to determine investment priorities such as new products, licenses, and structural opportunities, underpinning recommendations with robust financial modeling.
- Manage corporate development activities including performing M&A due diligence, developing acquisition strategies and target prioritization, as well as overseeing investor relations plans and execution.
- Address ambiguous cross-company operational challenges lacking clear ownership by independently defining problems, validating hypotheses, analyzing data, and implementing effective solutions.
- Drive high-impact operational projects that enhance synergy and scalability across Tilt's market portfolio, streamline complexity, and improve transparency and accountability.
- Contribute to international growth by participating in market selection, defining entry strategies, resource planning, and project execution until launch.
Candidate Profile
- A minimum of five years in strategy, business operations, corporate development, or equivalent roles within high-growth startups; experience in top-tier management consulting is advantageous.
- Proven ability to independently manage ambiguous, high-priority problems from inception through resolution.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities used to inform decisions and craft persuasive narratives.
- Highly self-organized and autonomous, adept at gaining consensus and driving results in loosely structured environments.
- Excellent communication skills with a track record of earning trust from senior stakeholders.
- Hands-on, practical approach balancing detailed analytical work with executive-level presentation.
- Regular use of AI and automation tools to streamline manual processes into scalable systems.
- Alignment with Tilt's philosophy of believing in people and designing financial products grounded in mutual trust.
Employee Benefits
- Remote-first team collaboration spread across 14 countries and multiple time zones with home office expense support.
- Competitive salary complemented by equity grants reflecting potential and contributions.
- Flexible and comprehensive health insurance options with significant subsidies.
- Direct access and visibility to senior leadership, promoting the rapid flow of ideas.
- Paid global in-person gatherings twice annually enhancing team cohesion through shared activities.
- Growth and advancement motivated by impact and achievements rather than fixed timelines.
