Job description

About Fintechs Canada

Fintechs Canada is a national association that represents Canada’s fintech sector. Its membership includes more than 50 of the country’s most innovative financial technology companies, serving millions of Canadians.

The organization plays a central role in advancing change across Canada’s financial services landscape. Backed by leading fintech members, it advocates for a more open and competitive market and has helped secure meaningful policy progress over the last year.

The opportunity

Fintechs Canada is hiring a Senior Manager, Member Relations to act as a builder, connector, and doer at the center of member experience and day-to-day operations. Reporting to the Executive Director, this person will be the main contact for the member community and will support everything from onboarding new members to improving internal workflows and delivering high-impact events.

The role also carries responsibility for the full sponsorship process, including identifying prospects, shaping partnership strategy, and ensuring sponsor commitments are delivered in a way that creates value for both sponsors and members.

This is a small, fast-moving team where initiative matters. The successful candidate will notice gaps early, take ownership without waiting to be prompted, and consistently deliver with strong attention to detail. Experience across member relations, operations, events, and sponsorship is helpful, but deep strength in member relations and event delivery is essential; sponsorship experience can be developed over time.

Key responsibilities

Member relations and engagement

  • Drive membership growth by bringing in new members, increasing participation, improving retention, and staying current on the fintech landscape, including emerging companies, trends, and key events.
  • Act as the main relationship lead for member organizations throughout onboarding, ongoing engagement, and renewal, helping build a community that sees clear value in the association’s programs, advocacy, and network.
  • Create, improve, and maintain operational processes tied to membership recruitment, onboarding, events, and related administration, including the CRM, member records, and project management tools.
  • Help shape member programming such as webinars, events, and sponsorship offerings, while collecting and using member feedback to strengthen the organization’s value proposition.
  • Assist with financial administration tasks such as invoicing and dues tracking, working closely with the Executive Director and finance partners.

Stakeholder and partner coordination

  • Develop and execute the sponsorship strategy, identifying partnership opportunities that advance the mission and provide value to members.
  • Manage sponsor relationships and make sure partnership deliverables are completed professionally and on time.
  • Build and sustain productive relationships with external partners, sponsors, industry event organizers, and other ecosystem stakeholders.
  • Represent Fintechs Canada at industry events when needed.

Event planning and execution

  • Own the planning and delivery of Fintechs Canada events from start to finish, working with sponsors and partners.
  • Build event timelines and project plans, identify risks early, and adapt quickly when priorities or circumstances change.

Qualifications and experience

Education

  • A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, Finance, or a closely related discipline is required.

Experience

  • 5 to 8 years of progressive experience in operations, membership management, association management, or a similar function.
  • Proven experience planning and delivering events, including logistics and stakeholder experience.
  • Exposure to financial services, fintech, or a financial industry association is considered an advantage.
  • Experience managing member or client programming and driving engagement in a trade association or other membership-based organization is highly valued.

Competencies and attributes

  • Very strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfort with change and the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced setting.
  • A natural relationship builder who earns trust through consistency and care.
  • Strategic thinking combined with disciplined execution.
  • Self-starter who takes initiative and follows through without needing repeated prompts.
  • Genuine interest in events and creating smooth, memorable experiences.
  • Comfort using CRM platforms, project management systems, and productivity software.

Working style and location

This is a remote-first position based in Toronto. The team operates without a central office, but members come together both virtually and in person to collaborate, plan, and build culture. Travel across Canada may occasionally be required for events, conferences, and stakeholder meetings.

As a small team, each person’s contribution is visible and important. The role offers significant autonomy, direct reporting to senior leadership, and the chance to influence the direction of an organization that represents one of Canada’s most dynamic growth sectors.

Compensation and details

This is a full-time, permanent role. The salary range is $90,000 to $105,000, depending on experience, and benefits are included. The application deadline is 26 June 2026.

How to apply

Applicants should send a CV and a cover email explaining their interest in the role and relevant experience to the email address provided by the employer. The subject line should include “Senior Manager, Member Relations.”
