Job description

Position Overview

The Senior FP&A Manager will oversee all forecasting and reporting tasks, assess the profitability of new business ventures, and deliver special financial analyses. This role involves active participation in presentations to local leadership, headquarters, and group teams, collaborating closely with other senior leaders.

The manager will work alongside department leaders and their teams to facilitate informed decision-making through financial education and demonstrating how finance supports operational programs. Further collaboration with the VP of Finance, HR, and IT teams is essential to improve integration across finance, HR, and technology functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain consistency in all reporting cycles by liaising with local accounting and headquarters teams to ensure punctual and accurate submission of financial statements.
  • Lead recurring budgeting and planning activities with detailed variance analysis and precise reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with group-wide financial policies and principles.
  • Provide management with comprehensive analyses and reports to monitor financial trends and identify risks and opportunities.
  • Track alignment of actual versus planned expenditures, both operational and capital, to safeguard financial viability of initiatives and projects.
  • Collaborate with management to generate cash flow forecasts that reveal funding needs.
  • Develop profitability analyses for new projects and monitor actual returns against group guidelines, flagging deviations.
  • Support the CFO in engaging board audit and finance committees on financial operational issues and trends.
  • Advise on financial analysis aspects relating to IT application development portfolios.
  • Continuously partner with department heads to interpret financial data trends and support them in monitoring financial efficiency and effectiveness of decisions.

Qualifications and Skills

  • At least 7 years of progressive experience across accounting, auditing, and financial analysis.
  • Strong familiarity with accounting and financial reporting systems.
  • Proven ability to operate in a complex international environment under tight deadlines.
  • Competence in correlating and translating business events impacting financial outcomes.
  • Exceptional communication skills for interacting with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Integrity, credibility, and steadfast commitment to corporate strategy.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; CPA and/or MBA preferred.
  • Experience or understanding of the retail sector dynamics is advantageous.
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting and reporting software tools.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities for strategic financial interpretation.
  • Skill in conveying complex financial concepts clearly at all organizational levels.
