Overview
This opportunity is with a partner company seeking a Senior Manager in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) based in the United States. The role provides leadership in driving FP&A initiatives within a growing biopharmaceutical company preparing for commercial expansion. The position involves collaborative work with senior finance executives and cross-departmental stakeholders to convert financial information into actionable business intelligence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead annual budgeting, periodic forecasting, and long-term planning efforts, managing timelines, assumptions, templates, and consolidating financial data.
- Collaborate with function leaders to oversee departmental budgets, assess performance metrics, and identify financial risks, opportunities, and drivers.
- Manage and improve financial planning platforms including modeling, reporting, data integrity, and dashboards, while providing user assistance.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports featuring actual vs budget analyses and insightful management commentary.
- Support commercial finance functions related to business growth and product launch readiness, analyzing costs tied to sales, market access, patient services, distribution, revenue, and inventory.
- Develop financial models, perform scenario analysis, and build business cases to aid resource allocation and strategic planning.
- Create clear, executive-level presentations and reports summarizing financial trends and suggestions.
- Establish scalable FP&A processes, consistent reporting standards, and planning governance aligned with public company and SOX compliance requirements.
- Work with finance, accounting, and external partners to enhance operational efficiency and financial transparency.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or related discipline is required.
- Advanced qualifications such as an MBA, CPA, or equivalent finance/accounting credentials are preferred.
- At least 6 to 8 years of progressive experience in FP&A, finance, accounting, or business planning roles.
- Prior exposure to public company environments with a solid understanding of financial controls and reporting systems.
- Experience in the biotech, biopharmaceutical, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or similar industries is essential.
- Background in commercial finance or product launch preparation is highly desirable.
- Strong expertise in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial modeling principles.
- Advanced skills in Excel capable of managing complex analyses and conveying key insights effectively.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint and ability to produce executive-level communication materials.
- Experience using financial planning software like Adaptive Planning is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as NetSuite is an advantage.
- Proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships and influence decision-making through data-driven insights.
- Highly organized and adaptable, with capability to juggle multiple priorities in dynamic settings.
