Position Overview

Nintendo of Canada Ltd. (NOCL) seeks a Senior Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis to join their team in Burnaby, British Columbia, operating in a hybrid work model. NOCL manages marketing, sales, and distribution of Nintendo hardware, accessories, and first-party games within Canada. This role is pivotal in safeguarding NOCL's financial and operational integrity by leading cross-functional teams including Consumer Replacement, Warehouse Logistics & Returns, Human Resources, and Accounts Payable/Purchasing.

Serving on the Canadian leadership team, the Senior Manager aligns finance, operations, HR, and logistics by translating strategies into detailed plans, budgets, and efficient processes supporting diverse activities from product launches to retail and customer support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and provide strategic direction to Consumer Replacement, Warehouse Logistics & Returns, HR, and AP/Purchasing teams through goal setting, resource allocation, talent development, performance management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute actively to NOCL leadership team discussions to drive corporate culture, vision, and strategic goals.
  • Manage Canadian consumer replacement functions ensuring compliance with Nintendo of America (NOA) guidelines, service objectives, staffing, and third-party agency expectations.
  • Oversee logistics and retail returns operations to satisfy internal sales/marketing needs and external service agreements.
  • Ensure HR support services are efficient, compliant with legislation, and meet internal client needs.
  • Supervise Accounts Payable and purchasing, maintaining policy adherence, internal controls, timely payments, and process improvements.
  • Provide financial oversight for investments, budgeting, and analysis supporting sales, marketing, and commercial operations.
  • Monitor company expenditures, identify funding risks or opportunities, and act as a strategic advisor to the General Manager to enhance return on investment.
  • Manage office facilities and properties including lease agreements, operational support, security, and building access.
  • Lead NOCL’s corporate social responsibility reporting, environmental compliance, safety coordination, and business continuity planning in collaboration with NOA counterparts.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

  • Eight to ten years of finance experience, preferably including operations and HR exposure.
  • Exceptional organizational capabilities and ability to juggle multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong communication skills across written, verbal, and presentation formats.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, especially Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrated leadership directing multiple teams of subject-matter experts, cultivating trust, and driving collaboration through change.
  • Deep experience in financial planning and analysis including budgeting, forecasting, and shaping financial strategies that guide key business decisions.
  • Capacity to partner across diverse business functions and translate financial insights into actionable operational plans.
  • Excellent problem-solving and strategic thinking aptitude to make informed decisions in dynamic settings.
  • Ability to clearly articulate complex financial information to varied stakeholders to influence outcomes effectively.

Educational Qualifications and Certification

  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, Business, Economics, or related fields, or equivalent experience.
  • CPA designation is preferred.

Additional Information

This role is hybrid and requires regular presence at the Burnaby, BC office in alignment with divisional schedules. Fully remote arrangements are not available at this time.

The compensation package includes a base salary range from $134,950 to $202,400 CAD, potential discretionary performance-based bonuses, comprehensive benefits, and paid time off.
