Job Purpose
This leadership role entails managing and supervising projects and development teams focusing on In-House and Distributed Applications. The role includes selecting optimal development platforms and ensuring the implementation of user requirements through modern, effective IT tools.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyze software and application changes to ensure alignment with QNB's long-term strategies and financial plans.
- Design, implement, document, and develop applications within set budgets and timelines.
- Establish KPIs and implement best practices for system analysis of in-house and distributed applications.
- Drive cost efficiency and productivity improvements to optimize resource utilization and reduce waste.
- Operate within delegated authority limits.
- Collaborate with business units to understand and fulfill their information requirements promptly.
- Respond effectively to customer queries regarding bank products and provide suitable solutions.
- Adhere to SLAs to improve turnaround times with internal departments.
- Build and sustain strong relationships across departments to meet organizational goals.
- Provide accurate and timely data to auditors, compliance, financial control, and risk teams.
- Develop new applications according to user needs and designated plans.
- Identify and fix software bugs and perform unit testing to ensure correct program functionality.
- Conduct thorough testing and trial runs of software to verify output accuracy and correct instructions.
- Document programs comprehensively, including code comments to facilitate understanding and maintenance.
- Revise and expand existing programs to enhance efficiency or meet new requirements.
- Produce and refine programs based on workflow charts, logical operations, and knowledge of computing and subject matter.
- Create user manuals and guidance documentation.
- Investigate performance of networked systems and hardware in executing program instructions.
- Prepare detailed workflow diagrams to translate inputs and processes into computer language instructions.
- Maintain software systems through analysis and programming activities.
- Work with operators and system analysts to troubleshoot operational issues.
- Comply with QNB's standards and IT policies.
- Utilize object-oriented programming, client/server development, and multimedia/internet technologies.
- Maintain information security in line with ISO 27001 standards within Data Centre operations.
- Fully comprehend user requirements as detailed by business analysts.
- Apply system design principles and data dictionary concepts to create comprehensive applications.
- Follow the organization's software development lifecycle methodologies.
- Identify areas for own professional growth and seek development opportunities.
- Stay updated with latest advancements in the field.
Educational and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Minimum of 8 years' experience within financial services, specializing in web or mobile application development.
- Proficient knowledge of .Net framework and Oracle PL/SQL.
- Capability to analyze and enhance the architecture of existing systems to comply with current industry standards.
- Experience designing secure, scalable, end-to-end software for complex solutions.
- Training and certifications in system technologies, programming, and financial software.
- Specialized courses in IT security architecture focused on web applications.
