Intertek is looking to hire a Senior Manager for Business Development to join its Hardlines team remotely across North America. This role offers an exciting chance to advance a successful career within the Hardlines sector, which focuses on ensuring quality assurance for a diverse range of products including toys, baby items, kitchenware, sports equipment, tools, and home & garden goods.

The Hardlines team specializes in physical and chemical testing, adhering to regulatory and retailer-specific standards to help clients maintain product safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, pursue, and develop new business opportunities within the Global Hardlines market, targeting retailers and brands.
- Collaborate internally across other Intertek business units to enhance and expand the ATIC service offerings to clients.
- Manage and grow existing client relationships to maximize sales potential.
- Network actively by attending trade shows, professional associations, and industry events to identify prospective clients.
- Conduct market research to design customized sales presentations aligned with emerging industry trends.
- Prepare and submit responses to RFIs and RFPs from potential clients.
- Use business performance metrics to recommend strategies that improve revenue and profit margins.
- Coordinate with Hardlines, Softlines, and other business lines to share client insights and explore cross-functional opportunities.
- Develop and implement strategic account plans to support key clients effectively.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least five years of proven sales success in a related industry.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean and reliable driving record.
- Must reside in the United States, preferably in the Midwest or Eastern regions.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% domestically and occasionally internationally.
- No eligibility for current or future sponsorship through this position.
- Demonstrated capability to drive revenue growth and manage multiple client accounts.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
- Energetic, proactive, and self-motivated work approach.
- Ability to operate efficiently in a fast-paced, multitasking environment with shifting priorities.
- Highly detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing time effectively.
- Strong oral, written, and presentation communications.
- Possess required technical and administrative competencies to fulfill the job duties.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required.
- Experience in toys, retail, or hardline product safety sectors is advantageous.
- Retail account management experience is a plus.
- Proven ability to create and implement effective sales growth strategies.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and CRM software preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
The position offers a base salary ranging from $85,000 to $100,000 annually, supplemented by sales incentives. Compensation packages vary based on individual skill sets, experience, and qualifications. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k) with company matching, paid vacation and sick leave (PTO), tuition reimbursement, and additional perks.
