Position Overview
The Senior Manager of Business Development at the Beverly Hills Conference & Visitors Bureau (BHCVB) plays a vital role in boosting visitor-related revenue and enhancing destination visibility among leisure and group travelers. Reporting to the Senior Director of Group Sales, this role implements domestic group sales strategies and supports international leisure initiatives and partnerships within the travel trade sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement domestic sales strategies to produce qualified leads and drive increased hotel bookings in Beverly Hills.
- Build and sustain productive relationships with meeting planners, travel advisors, tour operators, receptive operators, online travel agencies, and other travel trade partners.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to attract business that currently favors competing destinations.
- Work closely with hotel sales teams to share leads, recognize prospects, and contribute to city-wide sales activities.
- Assist in the organization and execution of familiarization tours, site visits, sales missions, trade shows, and industry events.
- Maintain partnerships with major tourism bodies such as Visit California, Brand USA, CalTravel, and similar organizations.
- Support the CEO in managing international leisure marketing initiatives and referral programs through destination marketing collaborators.
- Coordinate with the internal marketing team to produce trade communications, newsletters, website content, and promotional materials.
- Deliver comprehensive destination information, VIP amenities, itinerary suggestions, and visitor support to ensure a superior visitor experience.
- Respond promptly to sales inquiries and assist clients throughout their planning process.
- Manage and update the Simpleview CRM database for accurate contact and lead tracking, sales reporting, and business performance monitoring.
- Oversee Cvent platform opportunities and distribute qualified leads to relevant hotel partners.
- Prepare quarterly and annual reports detailing trade activities, lead generation, bookings, and overall program effectiveness.
- Provide weekly updates and assist in reporting activities for management, the Board of Directors, and City officials.
Qualifications
- Three to five years’ experience in destination marketing, hotel sales, tourism, hospitality, or related sectors.
- Knowledge of group sales, travel trade dynamics, and destination marketing is preferred.
- Proficiency with Simpleview, Cvent, or equivalent CRM and lead management tools.
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational, project management, and analytical skills with capacity to work independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and CRM reporting tools.
- Willingness to travel domestically as needed.
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual salary range of $85,000 to $105,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
